In my opinion, the actor playing the interrogator is amazingly cast. He looks as if he came right out of a 1940s print advertisement, perfectly fitting the film noir aesthetics of the scene. Great voice as well.

The opening scene is truly magical. Shows you a dark future that looks dangerously beautiful and has those beautiful synthetic synthesizers

If you watch this movie when it's cold, dark, and raining outside, it adds to the mood of the movie.

My dad’s favorite movie. Miss you dad....I have been to Los Angeles a few times. November 2019 already....

I never noticed before, but something changes at 3:16. Up to this point, the interrogator is bored and uninterested. After this, it looks like he’s realized what he’s dealing with and his manner suddenly becomes smooth and well practiced. I love how subtle the shift in mood is.

I always thought this movie was from the late 90s/early 2000s. My jaw dropped when I found out that it came out in 1982. God tier practical effects.

A timeless masterpiece from 1982 (amazing) and uncomparable even now. This is the future, even 38 years later.

This scene alone is enough for me to say this movie is an all-time masterpiece.

I watched this movie in the cinema in 1982. I left stunned and in awe. I was viewing something iconic, and I knew it.

Pains me to say that the composer of this masterpiece of synthetic music has passed away.

Thank you Vangelis. You will not be forgotten. And this score will see to that. 👏

This is a movie that takes many.. many years to fully appreciate. And even still, most won’t. But if you are one the ones who do, there’s not a fucking thing we can do about it.

I saw this movie in 1982 while playing in a tennis tournament in Macon, GA. I was 14. After matches, my mom took me to the theater. During that July week, we saw Rocky III, E.T., and Blade Runner. Blade Runner was both of our favorites of the 3. All of the movies had merit and were entertaining, but this one was so poetic and beautiful. Tragic too. Blade Runner was a box office flop. It didn’t suit the mood of the times, but it has stood the test of time. People love it because it plays tones that live deep in the human soul & spirit. Blade Runner swims freely into the deep end. It will stick with you if you give it a chance.
