The more I watch this opening, the more I see Batman displaying the same characteristics of a serial killer. The stalking of his targets, the nocturnal life, the weaponization of fear. I love how the audience is taking a journey with him in his early days of learning to become Batman. And at the conclusion of the film, he realizes he can't continue to use "vengence" any more if he wants to save the city.

one IF not the best opening to a superhero movie ive seen, the monologe the way gotham looks and feels as if the city itself is a charecter the way the superstitious and cowardly lot shiver when they look at the shadows its perfect.
