In this video I will show you how to create some variations to the basic jump cut using iMovie for OSX.

The jump cut is a great way to clean up your videos and make them more concise however when you use face to camera footage a jump cut can sometimes be a little jarring an perhaps to obvious.

So in order to make the transition between your clips appear smoother and more seamless I will demonstrate some techniques that will help you add some variety to your editing style.

Super helpful! I wish more of these features was available on the iOS version as well, we unfortunately have only 5 transitions and can’t do a ken burns effect on video, only photos :( but thank you for the information!

Finally imovie gets some love, thanks. BTW when I use the imovie transitions it sometimes cuts off my audio at the parts where the two clips join. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
