Great advice for anyone creating video... May I add one tip... Always record "Room Noise". thirty seconds of the space your in... just in case you need to drop audio from the speaker...& avoid dead air...

Thank you for making this.. I think Generation Z is sadly so numb to Jump Cuts and a cut every 3-4 seconds..

I started using a teleprompter a few weeks ago, and it was a game changer. I make guitar lesson videos. When I'm demonstrating guitar stuff, I can go for a long time without needing to stop, but I really stumble when I'm recording parts where I'm just talking for a long time without playing the guitar. I started using a teleprompter for the longer speaking segments, and it made a HUGE difference. I can knock out those speaking parts faster, and it's a LOT easier to edit that footage.

This video has WAY too few views for the quality of the advice. Seriously, you lay out REALLY well the biggest issues I see from new youtubers and explain the ways to polish them out of their videos. Fantastic work.

Probably the best I found on YouTube which I have been hunting for a long time. I wish you could show the example of the audio cut you talked about. just so we know what you were talking about and how it turned out. makes a lot of difference. BTW, going to stick on to your videos. I like the way you explain and also, super helpful stuff. Thanks a million for this one.

Hi Jeven, thank you for you super detailed tutorials/tips. You’re one of my favs to learn from. I recently finished your Skillshare course and I was great as well. I hope all is well with you.

I started editing on Avid back in the 1990's ever since then it has been a game of using "cover up the bad sentence" or "cover that out of focus shot with" mostly using b-roll. I find it interesting nowadays how often we see jump cuts and how much they have become the social norm. I have actually started using them in my own edits just because it is so widely accepted now.

Excellent advice Jev. Think Vincent Price, he is still the absolute solid gold of delivery. I always say to my victims is to instruct. If you lose your way in a dialogue, just shut up for a few seconds then start again. Gives the editor space for cut/transition.

Hi Jeven. I noticed that your video, like my videos, plays in Auto 2160p 4K. I've seen some YouTube 4K videos that are in Auto 2160p60 4K. What is the difference? I have a Sony AX-53 camcorder and use Adobe Premiere Pro. Btw, I'm thinking about starting to use some B-roll in future videos. Thanks!

Great tips Jeven, thank you for sharing! I use the B role technique a lot, but I am happy to learn more options.

Nice video, thanks for the tips.

Can you clarify your suggestion of overlapping the audio with the fade in/out...Doesn't overlapping the audio shift the entire audio track out of alignment with the video? Sorry for the noob question..

Never liked using a teleprompter feels unnatural and has a certain disconnect. Just working on a doc and didn't have a second camera to help with cuts and transitions, surprising how much that helps.

Using a stupid amount of broll to help pull this together with graphics containing medical info or to dive a little deeper on what the person has said.

This was perfectly timed !
