Legit made me tear up when I first saw this 2 years ago, truly the end of Blue Sky by finally giving Scrat the one thing he wants most. I honestly thought that this wouldnt happen but here we are. R.I.P. Blue Sky Studios 1987-2021.

Blue studios was the final remaining studio that never changed from the early 2000. And my god was it such a great thing. So many amazing animations done by creators who cared for their craft. Never changed and always held that child like amazement. My childhood has now gone. And i don't think things will be better, but i'll smile everyday to remember these amazing things.

Even though Disney's to blame for, other than splitting the 20th Century Fox name, shutting down this once iconic company, what Blue Sky did here with Scrat was quite bittersweet.

The fact that they scrambled to make this one scene before everything was shut down, this shows they do care, even if theyre given terrible scripts or storylines, alot of people who worked on them still tried their best to make it look as fun and silly as possible, this was made for everyone, kids who only knew them for a lil while, and adults who grew up and were there from the beginning, idk why but when i was a kid and would see the same preview for ice age on one of my old barbie VHS tape, i would always wanna see ice age, and then i did, i prolly dont cherish it as much as i did as a kid bc nowadays i could find it and buy it myself but i would prolly still smile if i saw that preview again, same old quality, same song, same animation

20 years and he finally got the acorn

I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this, so I’ll bring up some things that I saw in this:

Scrat finally runs into the acorn again, after ages of chasing it across space. He does his usual grabbing it and hugging it, then he lifts it above his head to bury it. Then he stops. He realises that he has been here many a time, and something has always interrupted him. He looks left and right, looking for anything that might stop him this time. There’s nothing around.

Then Scrat realises, he’s always been needing to bury the acorn for later, but it’s been ‘later’ and he’s quite hungry. So he chomps down on it and finally eats thing that started all of this. When he’s done, he sets the remains down and stares at it for a moment, remembering all the adventures he had with it.

Does he do his iconic scream as he realises the amount of time he wasted chasing the acorn? Does he cry at the thought of losing something that’s become so much a part of himself? No. Scrat thinks nothing of it, just another step in his life. With that, Scrat looks to the future with a smile and hops off to his next adventure.

I'm glad Annapurna saved Nimona as their new division for animation is founded by former Blue Sky Studios executives and the director of ICE AGE and the Founder of Blue Sky "Chris Wedge" had joined for his new project. "Annapurna Animation is the new Blue Sky"
