Scrat finally eats his acorn

Scrat finally gets the acorn in the final short from Blue Sky Studios

The thing is, Scrat’s actual purpose was to plant the acorn instead of eating it.

The only reason why he ate it was because he remembered the chain reaction from him attempting to plant the acorn 2 decades earlier.

He ate it to stop the chain reaction from occurring again. If he planted it, he would’ve probably gone through the 20 years of pain he experienced earlier.

You might also notice that Scrat looks around for a bit after grabbing his acorn. This is because of the running gag being that something bad happens to him once he attempts to bring it with him. But this time, such disasters don’t happen here. Therefore, he finally had the opportunity to eat the acorn.

Despite all the suffering, the failures and the time he could have spent doing other things, he still chose to get that acorn. The dedication and commitment he has shown has paid off marks the end of the journey. Truly, a better love story than twilight.
