I don’t think it’s meant to make Jesus look like a beggar. I think there are people out there that need different ways to come to know Jesus. My best friend is an atheist. I would have absolutely no problem telling her to just pay. Give it a shot for a while and see how it goes for her. She would likely never experience Jesus otherwise.

I definitely agree with the message, but I think some people come at it from a begger themselves not Jesus begging.

Example; your friend just won't listen so you plead with them to come to church, even just once, to experience it. You're pleading for their soul to be saved, even desperate for it.

If you come at them aggressively they likely won't ever walk in a church or pickup a Bible.

Different people need different tactics to get them to listen. It's why there's so many denominations.

There's only one way to heaven, that's Jesus, but there are many places and ways to find him and the word.
