Are you separated or connected to the soul? | Celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Purab

In celebration of the coming into the world (Prakash) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, Bhai Baljit Singh explains the Shabad 'Akhaa Jeevaa Visarai Mar Jaao'. When Guru Ji's mother saw Guru Ji not eating, speaking or coming our their room for days and continuously muttering something, they ask Guru Ji if they can just stop! Guru Ji responds with the shabad:

ਆਖਾ ਜੀਵਾ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
Chanting it, I live; forgetting it, I die.

We know that the pillars of Sikhi are Naam Japna (meditation), Kirat Karni (earning an honest living) and Vand Ke Chakna (sharing with others). How can you maintain this path of Sikhi? Sangat (the company of the holy) is going to help you go in the right direction. Do you feel connected to your soul? Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Sikhi is all about connecting - so do a self check - if I'm not connected, what did I do and what can I do now to start living in grace? From inside, how can I get to a place of awe of the One? No matter how small the step is, if you are making efforts, Vaheguru sees and blesses those efforts.

Did you know you can ask Vaheguru (God) directly for ANYTHING, including love? Vaheguru provides everything for you in the exact way you need it. When it comes, be grateful and remember that whatever you receive it comes directly from the source!
