This scene ripped my heart apart as a child when I first saw it and to me it is still the most powerful movie scene there is. Literally every time I travel, I have a little fear of not being able to return. If I lost my country, I would never get over it, never.

Two things that make this scene more scarier:
A) Viktor doesn't fully understand English. Therefore, he can only be sure that there's an armed conflict in his homeland because the news report shows soldiers and shootings, but he doesn't know what's precisely happening.
B) At 2:09 - 2:18, Viktor says: "Don't you understand? It is happening again. There is a war again in my country." He even says at 2:27: "Every five years." This means that Viktor came from an unsafe country.

I remember the recent Turkish attempted military coup, I was like this on my way home to visit my parents. I was sick in the airport for two days however, the people saved Turkey!!! Failed coup!!
