"The right wing media, led by Fox News, has been working overtime to misrepresent and demonize the Green New Deal and one of its chief proponents, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

But while this attack has certainly helped turn Republicans against the term “Green New Deal,” support for the underlying policies of the proposal — a rapid transition to a 100 percent clean energy grid and a carbon-free economy — remains very strong.

A recent poll by a longtime opponent of climate action, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, tried to misrepresent the Green New Deal and thereby argue it wasn’t popular. But the poll’s results actually revealed that a majority of Americans support the strongest version of climate action imaginable."

Electricity didn’t come from the improvement of candles.
To achieve an ambitious target to lower pollution, countries need to switch to new energy sources (solar, wind, water, etc) so inevitably a few current/polluting industries will go away.

How about this green deal. It's called we already have options to be green without government intervention. Buy a Tesla car, don't buy or eat meat, plant a garden, don't fly to name a few. I don't understand why you guys need a green deal because it's already in the market place.

"The MSM doesn't cover the GND." Then why don't you guys cover the green new deal, go through it in detail, talk about what you think of the resolutions, the pros and cons. That would be better than pieces like these that are so general, seems to me just one side defending itself and throwing rocks at its opponents. Take on harder questions, think this through in detail.

First page - Unachievable and unrealistic in 10-12 years but sure, at least it was environmental.
Second page - Identity garbage, "Unwilling to work", etc

No wonder why it was overwhelmingly negative. As a millennial (33, so on the edge), for me it just says "What do I want? When do I want it? NOW!!" No, it is absolute garbage and exactly what I would expect coming from someone who expects everything can be done for them, then complain life is hard. Give me a break.
