As an Eagle Scout myself, no one has an issue with mixed sex organizations. Boy Scouts was never intended to be a mixed sex organization. There already existed a similar program called venture scouts which was specifically mixed sexes.

This was about activists attacking an organization and the Boy Scouts losing all of their ideals and not having the courage to say we are for males only. It’s totally ok for an organization to be only for males, only for females, orl mixed. Sadly BSA had been in decline for years but when they changed the standards many former scouts are no longer supporting the organization or sending their kids to it. Hilariously, Girl Scouts does not admit males so good on them for sticking to their ideals.

I don't like the idea of mixed gender groups but I will say I respect her and I'm glad she's doing what she wants to do. No disrespect to her I just think that's something about a male only group that helps benefit men. I think there should be a female version for girls to join and do these activities that they would like to do as well. Again no disrespect to her I'm not bashing her by any means.

In my country we have had mixed groups since the 60s/70s (we don’t have any “Girl Scouts” or “Boy Scouts” at all) and it just makes us all come together better in my opinion.

Boys should be able to have a space where they can be boys. Where they can be taught how to be men. Robbing them of that in some petty attack on the male sex shows immense disrespect for the organization’s purpose, and for boys as a whole. If they were really interested in just creating a more fun and adventurous scouting organization for girls, why wouldn’t they simply found a twin organization with that purpose? It seems to me this isn’t so much about providing opportunities to girls as it is depriving boys of spaces meant to cater to them and their needs. The lack of camaraderie, and other un-scoutlike traits of this Eagle Girl Scout they chose as their spokeswoman makes it pretty obvious this wasn’t done with benevolent intentions. Luckily my old troop still seems to be all boys. Really hope they still get to provide adventure and mentorship to many future generations of boys without politics coming in and ruining it all.

I went back to my troop in my hometown after they made the switch to allow girls in. The former motivation and high spirit was dwindled out of the young boys, and any show of energy or the rough stuff was quickly shooshed out of the boys. All the while the girls were himming and hollering like brutes. Don't even get me started on the so called female scout "leaders". Give me a Fing break.
