Sword & Buckler Sparring - Malcolm vs Nick

Both are using Regenyei swords, on the left a cruciform hilt arming sword, on the right, a sidesword. Though the finger is not over the ricasso, and they are of near identical weight and length, so essentially the same as far as this fight goes.

Red purposefully lunging forward and parrying, starting at about 1:05, is so satisfying to watch!

I just had my first HEMA practice Sunday, and you guys make those things look weightless. I underestimated how heavy a 3 lb sword can get (I was doing longsword) after a couple hours of swinging it around, and that doesn't even count the push-ups.

Hopefully I'll be able to spar at a similar level soon enough.

Sometimes, I check the clock and it's 1:33 and say "it's sword and buckler time". This time however, I was inexplicably compelled to take action. The only thing I could think of is watching a sparring video, and here I am.

Random thought: I would think that fighting against a left handed sword and buckler would be even more different/difficult than fighting other left handed weapons.

You know what would be awesome to see? That kenjutsu guy (Burak) with katana against someone with broadsword + dagger. IMO Katana has slight advantage against any one handed sword/weapon, but I would like to see how it would went against dual wielding

Why are you not covering sword hand when delivering a strike? Its a major flaw
