I feel like you need to do one of these episodes, but you put James and Jamie in the hotseat, and randomly select some of the items from Barry's home kitchen. They have to guess not just what the item costs, but whether or not Barry actually owns that product.

"Tried to look at you really hard the whole way through so that people really shipped us."
James is a man of the people

I wanna see a ”Barry or not” challenge, in wich Barry and James get some stuff from Barrys home, and some pretentious stuff, and Jamie/Mike has to guess if he owns the product or not

Ben for your salt versus vanilla debacle: the salt is pretentious because there are other varieties of salt readily available in ample supplies where as every variety of vanilla is not. You're essentially paying for novelty, not quality.

i dont know what was better. the look on barrys face when he already had the grater, or the look on bens face when he found out?

It's not just the hand pollination on one day that makes vanilla so expensive! It takes 2-3 years for a plant to become established before it will flower. It then takes a year for the vanilla pod to develop (assuming it was successfully pollinated). It then has to dry for up to a year. It's a long process from start to finish!!

When talking about this history of vanilla: worth mentioning that the technique of hand pollination which allowed cultivation outside of Mexico was invented by Edmond Albius, a 12 year old enslaved boy.

The way Mike turned to James and said "it's nice that he remembers our wedding invitations" was adorable.

"It's nice he remembered our wedding invitations" I thought Mike married a lovely blonde woman, but that look and using 'our' implied he married a grouchy ginger man.

Barry's face when he pushed the small grater away was maybe the cutest thing I've ever seen.

I want a new segment called Sorted Show & Tell where the guys show us unusual cookware, ingredients and utensils from their home kitchens. Inspired by Barry actually already owning the miniature grater!

Barry: I dream that one day I could get a letter with a wax seal.
Mike: Nice of him to remember our wedding invitations.
Barry: Done for the right occasion, otherwise it's tacky.
Me: Dig UP, Barry! UP!!!

Get you a man who looks at you like how James looks at Mike, tbh. But also when Mike mentioned their wedding invitations, it looked like he was talking about his and James’s wedding lmao

Nobody is talking about Barry saying "that didn't attack me in such a pleasurable way"... and Mike whispering, "with a paddle" ???? Coz that made me spit my metaphorical tea

Fun fact: snails aren't really found in the highest end restaurants in France, as Barry said. In Bourgogne, where escargots are really traditional, you can grab a plate of them as a snack in most open air markets.

Fun fact: Vanilla grown in Madagascar uses the same habitat as lemurs, which means that by buying real Madagascan vanilla you also protect lemurs from extinction.

Lmao James you accomplished your goal. Not even five minutes passed and most of us noticed the loving stares you threw at Mike. Well done
