I own one of these and it is a nice truck. I actually own several trucks and while this one is not hauling heavy equipment or towing a gooseneck trailer it does serve a purpose. It’s so much nicer to drive than an HD, the turning radius is awesome, and although I have owned trucks for the last 30 years and never had a midgate I have to admit it comes in handy. I have put over 3000 miles on mine and it is WAY outperforming the advertised range of 440 miles. I have towed my 8000 lb boat to a lake 60 miles away without issue and used less than 50% of the battery round trip. While it is not priced for everyone (I am sure those are coming) it isn’t out of line with the very top end of truck prices and you get access to the HOV lane as well as fuel that is a full third the cost of their gas or diesel counterpart. There are a lot of trucks out there to choose from and a they fall into a wide price range. I couldn’t be happier with mine and I hope you all feel the same about whatever truck you drive.

Nobody ever talks about the running gear on these EVs. How many motors, and where are they located? Suspension design?

Love the Rivian R1T. I can actually do U turns, drive for more than an hour without exhaust drone and tire noise becoming obnoxious, storage galore (gear tunnel is great). Acceleration is ridiculously fast, has a class V receiver and tows effortlessly. Handling is superb with such a low center of gravity. No maintenance other than tires and windshield wipers/fluid. Plenty of range for commuting and enough to get my RV up to some of my favorite local campgrounds.

It's downsides are simply the things it can't do because of it's size, meaning I prefer my diesel for long distance towing. Having a big truck with a lift and tow mirrors really helps visibility and comfort when towing long distances. I also like the camper shell options for standard trucks as there isn't one for the Rivian but I keep a ton of my long distance boondocking and recovery gear securely in the diesel bed.

Anyway, just saying that electric trucks definitely have their place. I love mine for all the reasons that I dislike my lifted diesel. If I only had one, it would be the diesel, but when they make a true HD sized EV truck with tow mirrors and a tow range of 300 miles, I'll jump back on the GM bandwagon.

I've been owning pickup trucks since 1982 and have never needed a midgate. It doesn't look as cheap as the Silverado, but it's still not worth anywhere near $100k.

You really need to educate yourself a lot more before reviewing a vehicle. The Silverado EV and Sierra EV are the IDENTICAL suspension. In fact, besides some very minor cosmetics, the trucks are identical. No major differences whatsoever.

I'm looking forward to Ben and others getting their hands on the Ram REV and Ramcharger. The Ramcharger just seems like the smartest way to do any EV pickup. It's literally no compromises on long distance trips.

Nice video didn’t talk about Electric motors or Transmission gearing or speed mode seems squirrelly & 24 inch wheels 😢how about 20 inches or 22 smoother acceleration in speed mode not Squirrelly 😮

I have a reservation for one of these and wanted to love it but I absolutely HATE that primer gray paint job. I will stick to my Rivian R1T and keep my diesel Sierra instead of selling both to get this. Barf.
