I know I'm late to the party, but just wanted to say I loved your common sense approach to plant shopping. Impulse purchasing is a problem, especially when space is limited. Thank for this timely reminder to purchase responsibly.

I absolutely love your views on responsibly buying plants. Some plant youtubers set poor examples and have way too many expensive plants and they look unhealthy because they’re either neglecting them or not giving them the right conditions. Love your channel, thank you for staying true to yourself and being so genuine

I am with you, I do not buy expensive plants and the hard to care for ones. Today I went to Home Depot and found a cebu blue in a full 6" pot for $16.98, WHOOOHOOO!!!

Hi, Nicole! I stumbled upon your YouTube channel today and love it!

My plant collection began and continues to grow because of my frugalness. Most of my collection came from Facebook Marketplace via sellers who are/were also plant lovers. I’ve also purchased from local garden centers, big box stores and online retailers. I’ve never spent more than $80 on a plant (and that took some thought!) Once people found out I love houseplants they gave me theirs (due to moving, pets, etc.) I keep my collection controlled and love propagating from what I already have or redecorating so I’m not tempted to buy too many new varieties.

My spouse and I are financially stable and debt free. It sounds like we grew up with similar values. Thank you for sharing your content!

Common sense 😉. Some other YouTube planty people get so caught up in producing content for their channel by shopping. Let’s talk about plant care and just enjoying the serenity of a beautiful green lush plant. 💚

I agree with you Nicole. I only buy plants in big box stores at much cheaper prices and also patient to wait for the ones I want to be available at lower cost. Regards from Calgary Canada

I follow quite few youtubers associated with plant industry and I will be honest they always make me tempt some new plant. I have to bring myself back to the grand to not to spend to much on plants. So I am so glad and thankful for you and your content. You are reasonable and responsible plant collector. I appreciate you and your videos.

I agree with your video and thank you for being so transparent. Since I’m getting into more houseplants right now, I’m very budget minded as well. Houseplant YouTube videos have been very helpful.

Nicole I have been buying plants for 30 yrs!! I don't want to think about the money I have spent. But I love them it's my weakness and I love them!! They are the best friends the best listeners and they are loyal!!! You're hooked and now you' will find away to buy a plant one way or another!!

I totally agree with you. I don't shop online. I'm always excited to shop locally. And plants talk to me. If there is ten different plants that I'm attracted of, one of them will stand out and I will buy it. And you're right about being patient. Too many plants are unfortunately ridiculously priced too high but if you wait, you'll find the perfect one at a decent cost. I really enjoy your video.

Love your channel. Laughed out loud when you said I brought 2-3 plants home a month...this is me! Most of these plants cost under 10 dollars. I cant relate to most plant you tube videos. It's not about who has the best plants but about if you love YOUR plants.

I have been a plant mom for many years. Years ago I would not buy plants unless they were on sale. It my hobby to rehab plants. I would take a plants others were tossing out and pick up plants on the curb side. Now I will purchase plants but not at a great cost. My plant budget is very limited. Thanks, always enjoy your videos.

My most expensive plant purchase was a burgundy rubber tree. I paid 24.98 for it last year at Home Depot in a 1.66 gallon pot. My best plant purchases have been cuttings of a cebu blue pothos that I got for free from someone on one of my plant groups on Facebook and a rubber tree purchase last year that had 2 varieties of rubber trees in the same pot, a tineke and a robusto, for 19.99.

I try to ask the same questions too, its just more financially responsible. If it was not in my wishlist then I consider it an impulse buy as well. Good questions to ask yourself and share!

I respect everything what you said and I agree totally with you. If all plant lovers do what you are saying the price of plants remains reasonable. Thank you for this video.

I love your channel more because of these reasons as it's more realistic. I have around 10 plants in my house right now and I know I can afford it but more plants means more work/problems as well. And I totally agree, swapping is awesome.
