In case you guys don't know: he didn't actually do all this by himself, even though after watching this you could think so. Almost every time he refers only to himself talking about his journey, the "I" would actually have to be a "we". His friend Max wasn't even mentioned by name.
Quote: "I don't make my dreams about me. I make them about something bigger than me."
If I counted correctly, he says "I" 166 times, "my" 40x, "me" 19x and "myself" 10x. The pronoun "we", on the other hand, he only uses 8 times, "us" 4x, "our" 5x and "ourselves" 2x.
I know I am a nerd for having counted this, but it struck me. Especially with his main message being: "It is our turn to include others into our dreams and make life about more than ourselves." I think you could take that quote more literally. And that's 2 out of a total of 5 times "our" and 1 out of 2 "ourselves" right in that one sentence. Stunning.

Nono, I've watched this video after I saw Biking Borders just earlier. You and Max were exuding such a lovely friendship, a special bond, I found you both so entirely endearing. Ambassadors of what could be. I'm a long distance cyclist myself, and as a solo woman rider (in my mid 50s) I understand the challenges, fears and the elation of being on the road. I cried tears of joy and longing to return to the road, when I saw some of those glorious scenes with you and Max riding through the desert feeling as alive as you so unmistakably did.
That you have practically cancelled him out of your story now is truly a disappointment. I was enthralled by the dynamic of you two. It was much bigger than even the fundraiser. It was sublime in the way you were there for each other in vulnerable moments. When he comforted you following the breakup, or when you needed help with your bike fixes. I'm baffled, if I'm honest, and didn't watch it to the end.

Actually the challenge sounds fun more than discomfort..discomfort is more like holding breath under water..

We all leave our comfort zone when we die. So why leave it sooner?

Too much „I“ instead of „we” when it comes to the Biking Borders trip and the school project. Disembracing the worth of deep friendship. How can you ignore the part of Max and how he helped you through. – It really sounds like you did this trip all alone, all by yourself. So much about leaving EGO behind.
