The best scenes in the movie belong to these two. Their great together. Nobody pulls off a better performance under makeup than Ron Perlman . Nobody. I'm old enough to remember his work on beauty and the beast too. He's an excellent actor.

I once had my Aunt start dissing on Hellboy. I asked her what she didn't like about it, and she blurts out "I hate the way he
my heart just went straight to this scene. I mean how does anyone miss the point of a character so completely.

I liked some parts of the 2019 Hellboy, but let's compare lines for a moment.

Perlman Hellboy: (gesturing to his face in self-distain and frustration) "I wish I could do something about this...but I can't."

Harbour Hellboy: (in response to his father calling him beautiful) "If my face could talk, it would disagree with you."

the whole "him being different" does make me sad. Glad now i seen this when it came out, there were a lot of sad moments, but not a whole film where he can defeat anyone
