Honestly I wasn't expecting you to drop a video about this. This is why you are one of the only channels I have notifications turned on for. Keep it up

Not only does 32bit go above 0dB, it goes well over 700dB above.
The sound quality is identical to 24bit, but unlike 24bit it does not matter how loud or quiet something is, you wont lose data.
I like to use 32bit for all my samples because it guarantees not losing any data for very loud or quiet samples.

For listening, 32 bit makes no sense since 0dB is the maximum level of your interface, amplifier and speaker.
I like to export 16bit. Some people claim that 24bit is higher quality and while thats technically true, it really isnt audible and most playback devices use 16bit anyways.

Thanks for explaining, I'm making my own sample loops and wasn't really sure which one to pick for exporting.

yes ! this is game changer in mixing, and I was watching a video on Reason Studios page and it said reason is normally 32 bitdepth and in the busses and master channel it automaticly becomes like 64 bitdepth thats hugeee

Totally agree. I have found 32 bit especially during live event recording which is much of what I do a life saver.

at 2:10 when you said 'it kept all the data above zero" LITERALLY sounds like Steven Slate talking. Especially when i turn away.
Crazy.

Anyways, great information! Thank you Decap!

As a bassist, some of my basses are just "hot. Thhis is the best trick for bouncing basslines to producers. Thanks Decap!

Preach it! I need check my settings and see if I can bump it up. I think my interface is locked at 24bit, that’s awesome info.

32bit is sure helpful but why exceed 0db in the recording in the first place and not set the limit between -5 to -20?

I thought I was the only one in 32bit. Good to know I’m not! Happy Saturday
