How to Sew on a Patch by Machine

Thank you, great video! I've neither changed a foot nor used the zippper foot before, today was the first time after taking a cue from your tips. Had two expensive pair of jeans, each with one belt loop torn on one side, leaving small hole in jeans as well. Cut two heart pattern patches from extra matching jean fabric, straight stitched patches with zipper foot!! ... then sewed the belt loop back in place. It worked, two jeans back into the wardrobe... I'm ecstatic, thank you again!

Thank you thank you for making this video! I have been sewing patches on my kids school uniforms for 3 years and could never seem to get a straight pin through it to hold them down and would always fight to hold them in place while I was sewing them on and they pretty much always don't look so great. Finally looked on YouTube and saw your video and this is the first patch I think that looks really good :-) Thank you!

I like to free motion the patches. I use the free motion foot and lower the feed dogs and I can move around under the needle so much better.

Hi Trishawna, I am sewing on a very large patch on the back of a jacket but I want to zigzag stitch it but very tight stitch I guess almost like embroidery stitch. Is there a special foot for this or just the zigzag foot will do? Thank you.
