I live near this place and frequently see it from the lake on my jet ski. From the outside it is the same unfinished eyesore that it has been for 10 years.

The thought of furnishing something that large is an undertaking I couldn’t even imagine. I have anxiety just thinking about that. Even if I had all the money in the world, I wouldn’t even want some thing that’s large that’s not at home. That’s a shopping mall.

She said her home, at 90, 000 square feet, is the largest home in America. She's wrong. The largest home in America is 175, 000 square feet and it's the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC.

In my opinion, aside from the 08 recession, I believe it is taking so long because she is hiring the wrong people. The fact that the marble is falling off the exterior of the house on a project like this is head scratching. They said it wasn’t installed correctly. I would assume one would hire the crème de la crème of contractors on a project of this size.

Seems like she is going all out on the material but cutting corners on the contractors

The “kids” will never live there. The swamp will take over that property with gaters roaming the grounds.

This home is about 90, 000 SQ ft.
About 15th in the running for largest homes in America.

Jeff Lewis was called as a potential decorator and after touring the house declined the job. He was frankly appalled at how tacky it was going to be if Jackie had her way.

This woman could have built a sizeable 12 bedroom home with the extra amenities & a full live in staff for the amount of money thats been wasted building this home

I still like my 1000' house better. I can get to the restroom from my bed in 5 seconds.

By the time they are done building the house the kids will be married, off to college or independent adults living under their own roofs. Such a shame she will be living alone in her palace. Her husband might only be able to sleep in it since he's so busy working to provide for his family and her expensive shopping. Don't get me wrong I think she's a sweetheart, kind loving woman. She just has an over spending addiction. Usually people who were poor and all of a sudden have more than they did tend to spend above their means.

I literally feel sorry for this lady
I could bet money that she's never gonna see the house completely done. For some reason some humans aren't happy with what they have and always want more and more even if they can't afford it

This will be the most interesting decor we have ever seen. She reminds me of the lady who kept building the famous haunted house in san franscico with no end. There were door and stairs that lead to nothing..what was her name? Hmm..The winchester mystery house. The lady was so rich, she kept building and building because she thought the indian spirit ghosts were telling her to build or be cursed. She kept building her home everyday until she died.

If I were a billionaire - I'd prefer my legacy to impact the masses & obliterate hunger, illiteracy, homeless, abuse; the issues our politicians claim they don't have the $$$ for. Not a vulgar display of wealth

Hmm, the problem with projects like this is that they don’t spend a lot of time thinking about proportions, which is half of what makes a building beautiful. There seems to be too many unnecessary bays and sections jutting out, and all of the windows are several different sizes. Palaces of old (like Versailles) were beautiful because they followed an order, with rooms being generally rectangular or square in shape therefore utilizing as much space as possible. The main entrance seems to have been built for the wow factor alone and wastes a lot of potential living space. And again the door is not in proportion to the other windows. However, I do believe the decoration will be amazing if not completely gilded. I think it was a missed opportunity not to hang garlands of metal flowers from the central dome. And I believe the elevator doors would look better if it was inlayed wood in a floral pattern instead of completely covered in gold.

I am afraid by the time this house is finished the kids will no longer need a room.
They will all be married and gone.

It's not the largest home in the United States, and doesn't even come close. The Biltmore Estate is, and it's 178, 926 sq ft of floor space (roughtly double this home's square footage), and of that 135, 280 sq ft is the living area.
