Great video with nothing but words of wisdom. No rambling, just clear concise wisdom. Thank you, rather timely for me.

Speaking my language! That’s why I run under the handle offaducksback on social media, a constant reminder to shoot for myself and give zero Fs to what the masses (or algorithm) have to say. Easier said then done sometimes. You only have to look at how many people put down their cameras once the algorithms changed and the world went to videos to wonder were they ever really in it for the art, or did it kill their enjoyment or no sense of validation anymore or something else…

Looking at old memorable photos is something I do from time to time and they remind me I still have my unicorn moments to go after.

I cannot believe how perfectly you hit the nail on the head with this one. I do landscape astro as my main/only hobby and I can go out usually once per month. At the same time I (by my own fault) got bombarded by astro posts from all FB and IG posts, which really didnt do any good. Sometimes I couldnt go out for a few months in a row due to terrible weather in 2023 and yet I was feeling burned out, which was so strange, like how could I be burned out if I didnt to any astro. So I took a step back from social media which really helped. And now I was watching this video and it makes so much sense. Thank you.

You see! That's what I like about you Will! You are so genuine! Before I saw this video, I had gone out today to take a few shots in a rather brown, less than inspiring area, during the winter, just because I wanted to see if anything would strike my interest and to try out a new lens. In the process, I enjoyed my surroundings even though it was bland from a photographic standpoint. When you talk as you work, people enjoy it. So continue to enjoy being you. God has given you a gift.

You did make a good point about our photos only being seen for only a few minutes. So, about two weeks ago I bought a Photo Spring Digital Photo Frame with a battery. The purpose is so I can load the photos I've taken that I like the best and have them play as a slide show from time to time. I'm now going through my archives and selecting what I like the most. Thank you for these little videos you do. Ron, Plano, TX

Love that point about not trying to force inspiration. It's so easy to feel guilty when you aren't getting out there, but nothing I ever forced has looked good haha.

Thank you for your story, cause there is so most more in and behind an image than you can see.

Thanks Will! The conversation was great! "Be true to yourself" and "Feel it", been doing it for years, in my photos, paintings, graphic design. I'm self taught in all my artistic endeavors, it's fun discovering. I feel ya for sure! Landscape and nature are my thing too, along with having my first grand baby, I certainly take enough pics of her, lol! Awesome learning a bit about portrait and candid photography. I take pictures and hope they turn out, that's pretty much how I roll. Thanks again Will! Now go out and take pictures everyone!!!💜

Great words Will, I actually really don't enjoy my job, well its OK but doesn't satisfy me enough, so to make up for this I find going out with my camera even if its twice a month makes me happy, I can switch off from work and forget about what's bad in my life, trying to create a better image each time is what gives me my drive, when I see what others have done I get inspired to try and create better images, but there are times when I just say no, have a weekend off.

Recognize this that some days there is no feeling at all to photograph. But something that has given me inspiration is my exhibition in the office where I put up 12 new A4 of my pictures approximately every 6 weeks. When people who work there come up and say that you are a good photographer and they like my pictures. It gives a good sense of self that even 1 million likes on social media can't give

Great video Will, you made perfect sense and totally agree all that matters is the photographer taking the photo who is satisfied. Time to get back out there and stop doing so much theory without practically putting it to use. Have a great day!
