The transitions in this episode was on another level. From Luffy remembering the promise he made to Kinemon to them being laid out on the floor. I can't stop talking about how good this episode was. You know it's good when they release more then one clip💯

“Of course I will” the same words he said to Nami back in the Arlong Park Arc. I also love they way Luffy delivers the line “it’s my friends country” and the way Kinemon looks at him, pauses and just breaks down. So sad yet so powerful.

The way zoro clenched his fist around his sword really hit me hard. Thats a man who knows and understands EXACTLY how kinemon feels right now. He understands the samurai culture, he practically lives it. The feeling of failing at what you have sworn to do, what you have dedicated your life to doing, thats soul shattering for a man like them.

Luffy walking right passed Big Mom and Kaido while they were talking to him so he could check on the Akazaya is something we all saw coming, but was still very well done. The sign of a great character: You can predict how they will act in a situation based on how you've seen them act over the years.
And that hard jump cut from the Akazaya being okay to them on the ground for the maximum emotional gut punch? *chef's kiss*

Everytime I watch this scene, I freaking start crying the second that Luffy cuts Kin'emon off right as he's about to beg for help. Kin was so prepared to have to convince Luffy but then is hit with a deeper understanding of the kind of man and friend that Luffy is. Those are the tears of a man who has found a friendship to forever treasure. Keep in mind that his "best friend" betrayed him like an hour ago

Surprised nobody is talking about that quick cut to Zoro gripping his swords in anger when seeing Kinemon (a samurai/swordsman) mortified by his own defeat. The same the same way Zoro was when he lost to Mihawk. Such a great attention to detail and consistency with these characters. 🤌🏾

Luffy is a person you can trust your life to and never worry about being betrayed. Kinemon was ready to beg for Luffy to carry Wano on his back but Luffy cut him off and said ofc he will almost offended Kinemon thought otherwise👏🏾👏🏾

Words can hardly describe just how good this episode was. The jump cut from the memory to the present, the contrast with lighting really sells the contrast in mood and seriousness. The score is so effective too. So many bits in this episode were amazing. Easily the best episode yet, and ep. 126 is really hard to top! Can't wait till the "drums of the liberation"!

"i feel chagrined" :( the panel of kin'emon crying already brought me to tears when the chapter initially came out but this....i was bawling i'm really serious. i have so much respect for kin'emon, since the day oden died his life has been hurdles and hurdles no time for rest. yet here, despite being at death door, coughing up blood, his only concern is the fact that if he dies he has nothing to show to his lord but deep shame. and since we know how great of a person oden was, the length at which kin and the others scabbards are willing to go in order to fulfill his dream feels real and justified. i love this saga.
