this scene looked like something straight out of a studio ghibli film. astonishing work to everyone who worked on this episode.🔥

It’s good to see Roger and Luffy shared the same brain cell, and that Luffy’s brothers supported his wild side while Roger’s friends were always there to keep him in check.

Megumi Ishitani, remember the name.

(She directed the absolute masterpiece that is ep 1015)

Lil Luffy laughing his way into the scene just makes me smile

can we not just only appreciate the animation for 1015, but the sound design, storyboarding, music and the director’s overall vision for this episode? EVERYTHING from a production stand point was at its highest quality for the start of roof piece and I love it!

The parallel between Ace, Sabo, and Luffy and Oden, Whitebeard, and Roger is insane. With Luffy saying the exact same thing Roger said...and to Ace and Sabo having the same reaction as Oden and Whitebeard

This was a magical Studio Ghibli-esque scene and the parallels were insane, we cannot thank Ishitani and the team who worked on this episode enough, it was a feast for the eyes!

They knew that the anime needed to make the connection easier for people and I love it. People who payed attention to theories and such knew that in the scene of Roger and Luffy telling their true dreams, the bandages of sabo and ace were exactly mirrored by oden and whitebeard. Such a genius way to do it to. Goosebumps

Also, another important detail is the different colours used for Roger’s part and Luffy’s:

Luffy’s side is coloured with fresh tones symbolising the beginning of his journey/ the dawn of his dreams, while Roger’s side is coloured as if it was the ending of the day, symbolising the end of his adventures.

Luffy’s laugh at 1:36 makes me emotional every time, the sheer childlike wonder and dreams contained in that laugh just hits me so hard.

To me, this is the greatest scene in all of 1015. Red Roc was nice, but this... This is what gives you chills.

I feel like this scene will be even more magical when we find out what's the Luffy/Roger's line

Safe to say this was the single greatest episode of one piece. People love to criticize this series and say it’s been stretched out and has gone on too long, yet it’s still better than ever 20 years later. Goated

The best anime only added scene in One Piece's history so far. This episode was something completely out of this world

The art style going from childlike and simple with Sabo and Ace to a more mature and fresh flow as Roger, Oden, and whitebeard followed was absolutely beautiful. The art styles meshing together through color was the best way this scene could've been displayed. Thank you Megumi Ishitani.

1:33 The children is laughing, the adults have concerns on their face. I wonder what luffy and roger wants.

Notice how this is scene is coloured as a child’s fantasy book, with no detailed faces, showing that this is Yamato’s own perception of the story and how she imagines it. Truly a masterful piece.

Edit: I meant he* 😅
Edit2: She*, cause I am a piece of log

Who knew that a child’s dream can inspire people so much that it creates a well animated flashback.

Luffy's laugh in this scene is by far the best laugh in all of anime. So adorable
