Raspberry Pi 4 vs Raspberry Pi 3B+: Battle of the Pis 2021!

This video compares the raspberry pi 4 with the raspberry pi 3b+. The raspberry pi 4 has a better CPU and better connectivity but it suffers from heat and wifi issues. However, these are temporary fixes and can easily be solved. A raspberry pi 3B+ is no slouch as well.

Good review. I think i would prefer the model 3 thought. More cheap, more stable, and do not have to buy HDMI to HDMI interfaces.

Okay i need my fellow nerds help. I use the term nerd as a form of endearment. I'm trying to basically create a pip boy. I think I've got all i need component wise, but all suggestions are welcome. I mainly want to focus on format, programming, etc. I also plan on using a terabyte worth of memory. I'm a complete n00b and expect a bit a hazing. It is all good. I just need someone competent to guide me to the product i envision. This is just a fun hobby but who knows might come in handy.

Thanks for the review, I'm about to purchase a pi to run octoprint in order to add functionality to my 3d printer. Still haven't decided, but your review is really informative. I believe one of the most complex things the pi would be doing is analysising the noodle of death via camera. Maybe the 4 will do a better job... I'm off to check the plug in recommendation..

As of 9/14/20 the WiFi problems still exist with the Pi 4 and nothing but crickets from the Pi Foundation about a fix. It appears the WiFi problems are caused by the USB 3 ports, which is a known problem if the ports are too close to the WiFi chip.

Just to add a little tidbit bit here memory wise on the raspberry pi 4b. They dropped the 1 gigabyte memory for the 2, 4, or 8 gigabyte memory for it. I still have my raspberry pi 3b and 3 raspberry pi 4b 2 4 gigabyte models and 1 8 gigabyte model. While both have their strengths and weaknesses depending on your needs. If speed is not an issue you can use the raspberry pi 3b as a headless web server. For servin as a media streaming on a tv. Since you don't need a huge amount of power for playing video on demand.

I have a total of 5 raspberry pi 3 b+'s in every room of my house with a TV plus at my work desk with a mini display. I was thinking of upgrading to the 4 but the 4 realistically doesn't seem that much of an improvement over 3b+. RetroPie made a mistake they made the 3b+ too well rounded to where the upgraded 4 is really not worth getting.
