The reason these people are needed is because some people think its fine to throw rubbish all over our towns and the real problem.

I've spent over twenty years on and off picking litter up as a volunteer, where I live. The problem of littering is getting worse and worse. Signs don't discourage the morons that drop it, people asking them not to drop it doesn't discourage them from doing it so I say hit them in the pocket. Everywhere in the UK is a dustbin nowadays and it's not fair. Most people don't want to live in a filthy area with litter on their pavements and dog ends on their roads. It's revolting. All you litterers have to do is put it in a bin. I mean it's not rocket science. Even a beautiful little garden near me, planted up to commemorate children that have died, gets idiots chucking litter in it. It's so disrespectful and bad for the environment and wildlife. I hope we see more environment enforcement officers about fining litterers. I live by a beach and people leave all their shit all over the place...broken glass, plastic waste, hot barbecues etc and all you have to do is clear up after you and then you think it's unreasonable not to. Unbelievable.

Listen I don’t agree with this type of enforcement but at the end of the day don’t give them a reason to fine you!! I have a simple solution to this problem USE THE BIN!! 🙄🙄

These enforcement can’t do a thing even if they call the cops because littering isn’t an arrestable offence and the police can’t force you to give them your details.

These people aren't council employees, they aren't environmental protection officers, they work for a private company contracted to the council. The council only receives about 20% of the money collected. These aren't fines it's a charge. They should have given their victim a chance to pick up the litter instead of the ticket, I bet they didn't. Best way to deal with these parasites is not to give them your details at all and just walk away.

If this happens to you, pick up the offending item, inform them that you had no intention of leaving it there therefore no offence has been committed. Do not give them your name & address. They are powerless (police will not be interested as it is a civil matter) Cheers

What company do they work for . There's no markings on their uniforms. No signs saying enforcement or council employees. They've got designer logos on their hats . Why would anyone give them their details.

My mate has just been given a ticket for £100 in Doncaster for dropping a cigarette. They are now awaiting it in the post. How can they get out of paying it ?
