Hands down the best tip on all of YouTube for flux core welders.

Thanks, great video. I learned this within the first couple of welds with a Craftsman FCAW decades ago. It had no speed controller but found the schematic, replaced the resistor in the circuit with a pot, mounted through the side of the case, etching marks where a setting worked best for the material. Best all around welder for me.

Oh, I had no idea that little hood wasn't necessary for Flux core welding. This helps me a lot. Thanks

The only thing I don't like about running without the nozzle is that I weird positions I sometimes stick the tip. Whereas with the nozzle I can rest the nozzle on the piece than start and adjust. And I can never stick the tip that way. Great vid and keep up the good work

This could be a good tip to help with arc length when TIG welding. I need to flatten a table and was thinking about heat straightening with TIG, but I can see that this would save me a lot of gas and improve puddle control.

been hunting for tips and this saves the day. I have a used Mig (flux core) and now i see why the previous owner removed the nozzle tip

The plastic "nozzle" stops you arcing the torch body off workpieces. Which you will do without one. I bin off the plastic & use a piece of rubber fuel hose as it lasts better/ I can make it the exact length I prefer. .

On my "Cheapo Chinese" machines (which are all I use), first thing I do is bin off the supplied torch & often the earth lead too. As supplied, they are generally nasty. Triggers especially. I chuck on a Tweeco or suchlike torch & a heavier earth clamp (if the earth cable is ok). That's a huge "quality of feel" upgrade right off the bat. The machines are great - the leads usually suck. I'm holding the thing maybe 50 hours a week every week - I want it to feel & handle decent.

Spatter is the number one reason I dont like gasless flux core wire but the way welding gas is going I might have to start using it again.

I am definitely gonna try this because I was guessing where I was going and couldn’t see my bead puddle. Maybe I can lay down a decent bead now. Thanks.

For self shielded make sure the machine is in DCEN polarity

Thanks for the video! Is it beneficial to oversize the tip with flux core? Eg. Use .030 wire with a .035 tip?

Thanks. Is there a special tip without the holes that I can 😊use on my welder that does gas and flux cored? Thanks

If I don’t plan on using gas would it be okay to remove tip? My machine is flux or gas but I don’t plan on ever using gas just flux with this machine. My tip has the holes but didn’t know if it was ok for them to get plugged if using flux only. I also clean my tip regularly

I have 1 question, i have a tig welder for jewellery it is 150A and its minimum power so 1% is very high because instead of welding it melts the product. What can i do? How can i drop the power externally?

Is the wire supposed to touch the piece your welding. I have the Titanium 125 it ars when the wire touches the piece and not until then
