I’m 30 and my net work is around $90K - the biggest factor was becoming debt free earlier this year! Not totally where I want to be but starting to invest more

Age 31, Single, Male, AfrAm and $190k net worth here…half of it being in retirement that I can’t touch until way later. I feel very comfortable and could probably survive a few years without working but I’m definitely far from rich. I share an apartment with a roommate in a big city where I don’t need a car. Student loans all paid off by Age 28. $95k salary

39 Net 380k. investments 205k taxable/401k/IRA. Dividend yearly currently at 12K annual. Gross salary 90k. 40k house debt paid off in 8 years. I am saving like crazy and investing. Maxing out IRA and hitting 15% on the 401k. I want to get annual dividend to 50-70k. Your first 100k is a struggle. After the first 100 it gets easier.

I’m 46 with a net worth 800k. I measure myself by the average not the median so I have some work to do. Seeing the 44k median for African Americans was😢

I’m surprisingly happy with my net worth. I know it goes up and down.
I’ve been working on not carrying debt for a couple of years.
Listen to good YouTube like your channel and several others everyday to keep me on track!

29 Asian male with net worth $1.3M. I still vividly remember the struggles my parents had with money when I was a teenager. Joined the military at 18 and started investing a minimum of $1000/month since. Honestly the best financial decision I've made.

I'm in my early 60's and I'm doing ok. I'm above the average for my age range. It's taken effort to get there. While friends in college were partying I was studying. While coworkers were buying fun toys on credit I was investing. We haven't lived a grim life, far from it. We've just lived below our means and prioritized what's important to us so we could spend freely on those areas while cutting back in other areas and we always prioritized investing. You have so much more money to spend if you avoid consumer debt. Student loans for income producing degrees and mortgages are fine, within reason. Car payments maybe, depends on the scenario. Around here you need a GOOD car in the winter and they are harder to find cheap so I never worried about modest car payments. Credit card debt is a big no however.

Honestly ... I don't care how I stack up compared to others my age (or anybody else for that matter). I'm playing my own game, not somebody else's.

If we're not supposed to compare ourselves based on possessions (i.e., "keeping up with the Joneses"), then why should we care about comparing ourselves based on net worth?

I am above the average networth for my age. The chart shows I am doing alot better than I thought I was. I still need to be more intentional with increasing networth. I was hoping to be higher to retire by 55 years old.
