I am 24 and have a little over $50K in savings. I currently have it in a High Yields Savings with 4.3 APR. I have gambled a bit in stocks in the past but never have “invested” my question is if you were me as in my age with the amount of money I have with how the market is right now. What would you do? I have thoughts about pulling it out and putting it in Microsoft/Apple or maybe an ETF like SPY/VOO, would that be a bad choice? Very new here any advice is greatly appreciated!

Most of the people I personally Know at my age (late 20s) are shockingly broke. None of them have any stock market or real estate/ investments, so nothing that pays them back, really. I'm pretty happy I started investing in my mid 20s and realize I'm doing pretty well for myself, and it's reinforced having assets is a very good thing.

Great comprehensive video Nolan! Excellent job breaking these average and median net worth figures down properly without discouraging people from investing. I had no idea where I fell until I watched your video. 51 years young and I fall near the average of people my age. I think all of us investors and dividend investors can agree on one thing and that is that we ALL wish we started a little sooner! However some hard work and months of sacrifice can surely make up for lost time. Hope you get well soon and have a great holiday season!

My advice for young folks is to start investing early. The money you save when you’re young is worth so much more when you hit your 60s. Years of compounding is magic. Not only that it removes a lot of stress to know you have access to emergency funds if you need it. Just budget to save 15-20% of your pay and invest it and let it grow.

Very informative and concise. You have a knack for simplifying the seemingly complicated. The video was super motivating. In many areas of life, it's always good to have a target while there is still time to reach it.

I'm 32 with a net worth of $47, 000. So, my goal for the next three years is to get my net worth in the $150k range to set myself up for the 35 age range.

Those numbers are crazy. I spent the first 35 years of my life with no more money than what little cash was wadded up in my pocket. It blows my mind how people can have so much and think they are struggling.

Great information! For years I've felt that I am way behind the curve as I started saving late in life, good to know that I'm actually quite above the median in my age group according to your stated information! Makes me feel some relief...

I am currently 37 years old and will have net worth of 50k by the end of December. It's been taking me longer to save because I am paying down my student loans. By next August I will have paid off half my students loans and have a net worth of 70k. And I will have 45k invested in different investment accounts. Also by this April I will have maxed out my retirement account savings. When I started this journey in 2017-2018 I had 52k in debt.

I have 13 stocks and ETFs combined and I put $500 per month invested throughout those investments. When I did this spreadsheet I started becoming accountable every month to make sure I put it in. It's been a helpful tool. V

I was the median or below till I was 40, then average till I hit 60 and now I am above average and looking at retiring in 4 years, i feel it’s best to be debt free as soon as possible and investing.

I'm so mad this stuff wasn't taught in school. Feel so behind on everything. 😢 My trig class was useless. They need basic finance and investing classes instead.... My networth is about 25% less for my age than it should be.
