I read the Harry Potter series in French and one of the things that works well with that series is that in each book the language becomes progessively more sophisticated as Harry (and the target audience) gets older. And the plots are compelling, so you want to keep reading. On the other hand, there is a lot of vocabulary related to magic that is not particularly useful in every day life.

My plan to read my spanish book:
1. Read extensively
2. Read intensively
3. Reread to comprehend the story

I love reading books in english, and I'm at a level where I can read pretty much anything and rarely come across a word I don't undertand. Now I'm starting to read books in german and thats a whole 'nother story. It's really difficult to find easy books and it's also very tiring to read them, but now I'm starting on the german version of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". Wish me luck. :)

Good tips Kevin, Estou gostando muito dos seus vídeos.
I had recently purchased my first English book named Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen, it's a personal development book, and for me was pretty easy to read, this kind of book can be very repetitive and that is good because you'll see the same word that you may have some difficult, a plenty of times.
That kind of book usually doesn't describes places or people, so those like me that are starting reading foreign language books, it's a good kick off.

My first book in spanish was a fantasy book, but I had already read it 7 times in english and french, and I had watched the movies in french, english and spanish, so I knew the story very well. (The book series is called The gem stone trilogy or more commonly named Ruby Red. It was written by Kristen Geir and was translated from german to dozens of languages)

Kevin, you said you'd been reading books in English for seven years. If you don't mind me asking, what is your native language?
I'd also suggest working with new words from books. There are some good activities like retelling, vocabulary story (you have to make a small story using new words).
And, for sure, you should read what you like. If you aren't into detective stories, you won't like it whatever language it is written in

Oops... I'm starting with The Hunger Games in Swedish. I've read it so many times in English so it should be all right - most passages at the start I can remember off by heart, which means I can extrapolate their meaning using the Swedish I already know!

Many thanks bro.
Your tips are very helpful to me espicially the part relating to not go to dictionary too much
That I gave up reading many times because of boring of such repeatedly translating words🌸🌸
