5.0 NATLAN Archon Quests RECAP and Theories | Genshin Impact

Both 5.0 Archon Quests (Acts 1 and 2) had me at the edge of my seat! I absolutely LOVED the cutscenes in these Archon Quests! This video will contain a summary and quick analysis / theories on the new Natlan Archon Quests.

Also, props to the Captain for refusing to take advantage of Mavuika while she's not at full power anymore. That tells you right there how honorable he is. I liked him since Winter's Night Lazzo, so I won't be surprised if he ends up being my fav Harbinger.

I love that Mavuika is like this sneak peak of what can happen to a human that ascends like with Vanessa or what is a possibility for allogenes. She a human but an ascended one after pulling phoenix bird stuff. It be crazy~!

It now makes sense why Vanessa couldn't remember that she belonged to the Murata tribe. It's possible that she suffered memory loss because she left Natlan without the protection of the Wayob. The more we uncover about the lore, the more interesting it becomes.

Theory: The Ode of Resurrection is a pseudo loom of fate and is a double-edged sword for Natlan.

Mavuika mentions that Natlan's leylines are weakening which was why the abyss took more of a foothold on Natlan than other nations.

The reason why the leylines are weak is that the primal flame along with the ode of resurrection is a device created by the powers of Xbalanque, the Pyro Authority, the Gnosis and the Shade of Death, thus it can resurrect people by directly changing fate using Natlan's leylines.

The primordial flame was eating Natlan's leylines, thus weakening it, in order to change fate and resurrect warriors and keep making new human Archons. Now that the leylines are exhausted, the primordial flame is starving, the pyro Archon now has to surrender her own power to it to keep it going, and the abyss is taking over a weakened land.

Skirk says that the Gnosis and the what's left behind by the dead only bring misfortune, thus both the Wayob, the ancient names and the primordial flame are objects of misfortune for Natlan and will spell it's doom rather than save it. It's where Captain comes in, it's pretty obvious that he's deeply invested into Natlan.

He's probably a warrior of Natlan that left and lost most of his memories, there's a mention of a boy who was cursed by the sun in one of the books from 4.6 and got shunned by others. He could also be the Pyro Sovereign reincarnation like Neuvillette, using a cryo delusion. Captain wants to establish new rules for Natlan, and I think it concerns destroying Xbalanque's cursed system that created this cycle in the first place.

The Pilgrimage has to happen more than once a year, Kachina had a lose streak of 7 (if she's like 12 then yearly competitions would mean they sent her into combat at 5 yo 💀). Also Mavuika announcing that the next competition will be postponed wouldn't have been neccessary if the next one would happen next year - the nation would be either destroyed or already saved by then. They probably happen every couple months, maybe even more often than that.

During the Xbalanque quest, the ending about the dragons eye being split in two. I feel like that hints that Xbalanque had a twin. When we look at the first mural with the pryo dragon (sage) and the tree, we see two figures underneath, same size compared to the smaller ones. The only difference is one seemed to reach Divinity and the other didn’t. The other mural shows a person coming out of the dragon. So this brings me to the ending of the quest, splitting the eye in two. One was gifted resurrection, and the other was eaten by the dragon. We know later they emerged from the dragon. So first twin could be Xbalanque as the first Pyro Archon and his twin later emerges from the dragon, and sees his brother had ascended to Godhood while everyone forgetting who he is. Hint why Capitano doesn’t have an identity or people remember his heroic deeds in Natlan.

Lumine is cuter in her bathing suit than Aether, but Paimon is absolutely ADORABLE! I about died seeing what a tiny baby girl she is in her tiny toddler bathing suit! So yeah, it was a delightful little scene before the heavy stuff.

Natlan definitely has my favourite opening 2 acts so far out of the other regions. The capitano vs mavuika and Kachina vs Mualani easily end Sethos vs Cyno and even Clorinde Navia vs Gardemeks for me
