MASTODON live in The K! Pit (tiny dive bar show)

Atlantan rifflords Mastodon arrived at Kerrang!’s favourite dive bar with just one thing on their minds: crush, kill, destroy. A packed out, 50-capacity Blondies bar in London waited with baited breath for The ‘Don to deliver the goods, and ooooh boy, did they!

Joined by friend and Neurosis frontman Scott Kelly on lead vocals, the progressive-metal four-piece doled out 30-minutes of heavyweight riffs and sonic punches that left our innards quivering. You can watch it in all its glory now. And you better believe there’s much more to come from The K! Pit.

Scott Kelly in Mastodon is like Mark Lanegan with the Queens of the Stone Age. When you hear them, you know the song is going to be legendary. Awesome extra vocalists that sound so fucking good.

Mastodon and Gojira are two bands that I listen to and absolutely enjoy every song without exception. I can hear from the first song of the first album to the last song of the last album without skipping any tracks. I love and i think these 2 are the best bands of rock/metal of 2000/10 decades.

i feel like Diamond in The Witch House is one of Mastodon's most under-appreciated songs...I'd argue it's one of their top 5. Awesome composition, awesome musicianship, and epic.
