Out of all the videos about needle tatting, this is the best one I have found. Thank you for your clear instructions and patience. I learned this skill from you.

This makes more sense to me than the shuttle! So happy I found this!

The only tutorial that made any sense to me. You are the only one that I could see that tells us to bring our yarn all the way around in a loop at the beginning. Nobody else tells you this and I got really confused why I could not get my stitches off the needle to make a flower ~now I know.

I have been a fiber artist most of my life. I am 70 yrs old and could never accomplish tatting with a shuttle. Thank you for this video!!! I can now say I am learning needle tatting!! So excited to be doing this, finally.

my grandma would teach me to crochet as a kid while she would sit tatting. I always wanted her to teach me, but with age and health it wouldn't be possible now. I would love to make something even small to show her. we both feel it is important to pass on the skills of crochet, knitting, tatting, and anything with yarn, string, and thread. it's becoming a lost trade. so I would also like to say you are truly a great woman, and I hope you put as many of these videos as possible on here. passing on the skills in a way our youth will see them. 😆

I’ve been knitting & crocheting since I was 7yrs old. Recently, I’ve taken up Organ lessons, (I’m 57yrs old now)!!! I’ve always found tatting to be a beautiful work of art...but, never ventured there!!! Now, I’m going there!!! lol I’m gonna give it a try!!!

Never seen tatting done, I knit, crochet, and have basic sewing skills. Watching you fold the thread over your needle to thread it, is a trick my mother showed me years ago. I really enjoyed you sharing your craft! Thank you!

I am so glad that you worked against a dark background - it made everything wonderfully clear. The gorgeous threads behind you totally made my mouth water! Thank you.

I found some beautiful pieces in a ziplock bag when my husband and I moved into our home back in 2016. They weren't kept by the previous owners as family heirlooms! But no one has been able to tell me anything about the skill which went into them- until now! I've had to sleuth the stitches and techniques to find a kind soul who suggested they were a combination of embroidery and tatting! I want to learn this skill! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill 😍

Thank you do much for showing us all so patiently. I had a dear old friend Mary Morris who did the most beautiful tatting and I never found time for her to teach me...such a waste of her talent

My mom was the only person who ever mastered tatting with the actual bobbin. I'm putting this on my list of challenges. Excellent tutorial!

AT LAST! IT MAKES SENSE!!
Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this video, it's so lovely and ckear. I'm a lifelong fibre crafter, but trying to do tatting has always eluded me. Many thanks from across the pond in the UK

You are most definitely the Queen and Best! Teacher of tatting. I spent 2 hours watching & discarding various YT videos, but yours is the very best!

I never heard of needle tatting till just now, I can just about use the tatting shuttle, but it does hurt my left hand so after making a few bits and pieces I reluctantly stopped making tatted lace. This looks much simpler and you have made it so easy to understand. I have some needles which look similar to the one you are using, I got them last year to use for weaving, and I have piles of crochet cotton so I am now good to go. Thank you so much for this video, you are a genius.

Thanks. I taught myself from a library book years ago in my teens. Returning to tatting in my 40s.

Wow!! Thank you!! My mom had showed me with a shuttle many, many years ago. I don't even remember what she showed. I will try this with the needle...and view this many times! Thanks !!

Well, you saved me a 10 hour one way trip to Chattanooga TN with this video.

I tried years ago to tat using shuttle, but never caught on, friend of mine does needle tatting but is in TN while I am in NW MO.

I got my things in a kit from Handy Hands...and have sat last 4 nights trying to figure out why I couldn't get mine to go right.

Friend tried to help, sent photos by phone message...but to no avail.

Within seconds of you beginning, nailed the problem. I was not going to end of the cut off thread to begin, instead I was just using the thread as it stretched up by the needle...so had nothing to slide onto.

Thanks to you, I will try again tonight.

I also called friend second I saw what I had been doing wrong to tell her thanks to you, I had figured it out.

OMG! THANK YOU! I would hug you so hard if I saw you in person. I have been sitting here for a couple of hours just ruining thread with reckless abandon wondering why my stitches didn't look remotely stitch like. You helped me finally figure it out!
