For example, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention created a special category for evidence that can not be studied like objectively material causes can. They include “Experiential Evidence” among “Best Available Research Evidence” in their publication Understanding Evidence: “This type of evidence is based on the professional insight, understanding, skill, and expertise that is accumulated over time and is often referred to as intuitive or tacit knowledge.” This would seem especially valuable in studying clinical phenomena like NDEs, where such phenomena are, by definition “facts or situations that are observed to exist or happen” yet “their cause or explanation is in question.”
