Having come back to the game after 7 years, guides are pretty much mandatory. The game is completely different from how I remember it. Back then the whole game was essentially just the heists.

For anyone wondering, the carrer path and the 4 million are a bonus just for next gen copies of the game. If you bought the game for PS4, you can play it on PS5 but you wont get any bonus because the copy isn't a PS5 copy, it is a PS4 one. Rockstar being Rockstar 💰💰💰

I am a complete noob in GTA Online and let me tell you, this video needs to be updated. There is no career selection screen and all.
*Things now happen in this order - (Jan 2024)*
First you create your character. Then Lamar picks you up from the airport. Then he will take you to a place where you will be forcefully put into a car race with one other (real) online player. You get to choose the car & it doesnt matter which one you choose. The other player will ram you hard or whatever & you come 2nd. Dont expect fair play - this is criminal world. After the race, an immediate cutscene starts where Lamar gives you a mission to recover a coke package for his friend. You are sent to recover the package with the real player you just raced with & you deliver the package after recovering it from an NPC fleeing in a car. Then Lamar's friend gives you $500 for the package & you suddenly have some 13k cash or whatever. Idk how. Then you are sent to buy any 1 cloth item from a cloth store & then you are forced to hijack a non-sports car. Take it to los santos customs, fitting it with a tracker (this way you now own that particular car). Then finally, you are given a mission to go to a place where you start a deathmatch with other players currently online. Thats it. NOW YOU ARE FREE TO DO W/E YOU WANT.
Meanwhile be ready to get killed by other players with an RPG or high speed car getting rolled over you lol.

Couldn’t ever really get into gta 5 online back in the day. Was more worried about the story mode. I started playing online again maybe a month ago. I now have the best apartment u can get, 10 cars in my garage, I have a motorcycle club as well as a successful cocaine, weed, meth and counterfeit business, I also have an organization and agency, I also have a auto shop that I can work on other peoples cars for cash and also do missions from it. I can safely say that 8 years ago I couldn’t get rich online at all, 8 years later I always keep over a million in my bank at all times. It just takes a little bit of dedication and hard work, that’s it. Look what a month did for me. I can’t wait for gta 6
