I recently found out that I have Congestive Heart Failure and I NOW realize that some of the symptoms were manifesting themselves as far back as 3 and 4 years ago! The kicker is that I was hospitalized for two weeks about two and a half years ago(where a battery of tests were done) and have seen a physician here and there who would use the old stethoscope and NOT A ONE mentioned the possibility of CHF. Makes me wonder.

Can there be heart failure WITHOUT fluid retention? I have been diagnosed with heart failure but I have very little ankle swelling and no congestion in my lungs! Yet I am in failure! I have many of the other signs but fluid build up is minimal! So it's confusing to hear about congestion when I don't have it.

I had two congestive heart failures last year at the age of 69. I am now 70, and I am on oxygen 24/7. I am very weak. Any move I make causes my heart rate to accelerate and my oxygen level plummeting. It's awful. I feel like I am going to die soon.

I have all these symptoms but I have already been diagnosed with asthma… but something tell me it’s not asthma at all. ❤

If one has edema, both ankles, but that's the only symptom, could that still be heart failure? Everything else is perfect: Blood pressure excellent, beats per minute nearly that of an athlete, no shortness of breath, no trouble during sleep and can exercise for 3 to 4 hours no problem. Never tired either.
