I really hope the server is protected against griefing

“They probably have kids or something.”

Honestly, even with a low population, it’s likely at least one of those bases is the legacy of someone who has passed away. Pretty wild to tour with that in mind

I hope this becoming well known doesn’t ruin the server for them :(

Sometimes I think things like this should be left undiscovered, I am so worried about the impact of the publicity this server has now got.

It’s honestly crazy that this server STILL exists, and that players still play on it, please keep putting out these absolute fantastic videos!

I started playing Julyish 2010. My very first map I loaded into is still the only one I play on. My best friend and I still get on and play together. It was a rare alpha snow map when created (1 in 5?) and has crazy terrain. It's one of the most sentimental things in my life. I still share it with all the people that mean the most to me. It will be 11 years old this year ❤

Another old cool server is 90gQ, it's been up since the 19th of October 2010 and is still active. It was created by a Swedish youtuber named Stamsite. They have been doing backups like crazy and has moved towns every now and again so there's places that's been frozen in time when it comes to building design. There's over 700 episodes of footage dating back to when the server was created. It's a private server tho.

There’s something eerie about servers like this. When you mentioned items that had been stuck in unloaded chunks for years, or how former players have kids now…
It’s like the world is frozen in time. A bunch of data long forgotten, despite being such a big part of a few people’s lives.
I’m struggling to find words to describe how it makes me feel

I went on the server and waited in queue for about an hour and got in. Toured a bit and went on the rails highway, and within like 15 minutes I found a god-horse with 26 hearts on a guy's dead body. From what I can find this was only possible in the snapshots of 1.6, and was removed once 1.6 released, so I found an 8.5 year old horse. Already found a great piece of history. This server's story is just waiting to be told.

Seeing the older builds and how Minecraft used to look really hits me. I played the most in 2013. I just miss old Minecraft

As I'm older now (just turned 33 a few days ago), I've had to come to terms with how time feels and is changing.

2009-2010 wasn't THAT long ago, for me, but at the same time, so much has happened in my life and in the world since, that it feels absolutely ancient.

Time is such a bizarre thing to quantify and seeing videos like this gives me that vibe even more strongly.

This is really sad hearing how everyone he played with hasn’t been on in years. That hit home

Thats one way to destroy a small community...

This is amazing, I just hope that they have lots of backups and whitelists and stuff because 2b2t players are gonna try to annihilate it the second they hear about it.

It's actually kind of weird that older Minecraft bases look beautiful regardless of what of you do. The scale doesn't need to be big, the block choice doesn't have to be great (because there aren't too many blocks in the first place). Whatever you make using cobblestone and oak planks, looks kind of nice and beautiful. Is it just me who thinks so?

As others have said, you really can't expect people to not grief this stuff. It always makes me sad to be exploring a Pixelmon world and find towns and faction bases that have been completely torn apart because the locusts are too lazy to make their own glass or Healer or what have you.

First minecraft server I ever played on. Not sure how my friends found it, but they wanted me to join 2012/2013. Had no idea of the history and this video is a total nostalgia trip. Seeing Doozie and Rbos is like a fever dream.

If you’re ever online see if /warp HT still works. That was my base for the horse update. The previous star gate for the original 2013 base was destroyed.

I think I remember eighth or ninth spawn being the one in which I started.
Also—the server mall was awe-inspiring back in the early days of minecraft.
