I went out clubbing with a group of friends in college, and my latino friend got super drunk and went outside and punched a sign so it fell over, for literally no reason. A cop saw, pulled up, and arrested him for disorderly conduct. After he got released he complained that the only reason he got arrested was because of his skin color. Me, a Cuban man, kindly explained to him that the only reason he got arrested was because he was a complete dumbass. We didn't talk after that.

I’ll answer. As a Mexican myself, who has been pulled over, gotten a dui and wrongly been put in handcuffs. I can say from experience that’s It’s all about your attitude. Despite being in shitty situations with the police or being at the wrong place at the wrong time 99% of those interactions were positive in that I was treated fairly. Because I had the right attitude when I got my dui I rode in the front seat of the car to the jail, they let me have a drink of water before going and they let me have my jacket cause it was cold af. That kid came up all negativity hyped up wanting to put Kirk on the spot and try to embarrass him. From the get go his attitude was aggressive and charged with a shitty ass attitude. That’s called having a chip on your shoulder. With that said he’s the type of guy who gets pulled over and before the cop can say anything he has his mind made up on how every cop thinks and tries to flex every right he thinks he has to control a situation with “legality” before the cop has a chance to even read him and the situation. Come at a cop like that and for sure the cop is gonna push back. Kid sounded like he had no pride in his culture. He said he hadn’t been to Mexico like he isn’t “that type” of Mexican. Which sounds prejudice af.

I’m white, I’ve been wrongfully stopped by the police a few times. All I did was comply with the officer at the time and then file a complaint with his precinct after.
