Can you do a video on folic acid and methyl folate?

Folate is one of the B-vitamins and is needed to make red and white blood cells in the bone marrow, convert carbohydrates into energy, and produce DNA and RNA.👍

Has Dr Berry done a full MTHFR video? I am unable to find one.

Low folate has the same symptoms as low B12. I had both low folate and B12. Still recovering.

You need folate as primarily L-5-MTHF. If you get it as folic acid, the folic acid has to go through about 5 different enzymatic reactions to be metabolised to methylfolate, SNP's can affect anyone of these enzymes and reduce their efficiency to convert the folic acid in active folate.

Not sure if he’s still active on here, but I just recently did genesite testing and found out that I had significantly low folic acid level in my blood after months and months and months of not feeling good or not like myself. This video is very helpful with figuring out good foods for me to eat. Thank you very much very grateful for you.

I just learned that I'm low in folate and albumin and have very high TPO 🤔 Time to do research!

I have just had a phone call from my GP to say my recent full blood count came back showing I was low in folate and could I take an ‘over-the-counter’ folate supplement. When I googled it I had ALL of the symptoms. Of course I immediately searched YouTube ’Dr Ken Berry Folate deficiency’ 🤣❤️🇬🇧. I knew you would have great advise on this. 🙌🏻😘
Edit - how long will it take to stop me feeling crap! 😢

About 6mo ago I have bloodwork done that showed my body doesn't process Folate well. I was told I need Methylfolate. I have since been taking that. Can you explain what this actually means & why some people can have folate & some need Methylfolate? Thank you!!

Great information Dr Berry, thank you sir. Just one more piece of evidence to toss on the ever growing pile suggesting the people in the food medicine and supplement business care about their profits far more than our health. Thank God for people like you willing to tell us the truth and not sell our health for a profit. Now I finally have a reason to finish those brussel sprouts!

I use the Chronometer App to track my nutrition. In spite of the meat, cheese, eggs and salmon I eat, I could not get my folate up. I remembered I had some Thorne Methyl Guard and added the dose to the App and it exceeded my folate and B12 daily requirements. I am using ketosis and nutrition to enhance chemotherapy and mitigate side effects by applying principles of metabolic flexibility. Folate is helping me rebuild my red blood cells. 🤗👍🥳

What about Brewer's yeast? It also contains natural B9 or Folate, as well as flax seeds.

What about those with a MTHFR defect? I have excess B12 in my blood tests; averages 1500ish.
