The Cape Sable : A brand new boat based on a well-proven, time-tested concept that will be a pleasure to cruise.

Refinements to the highly respected and well proven Cape Islander concept were few - a clean continuous sheer, subtle tumblehome, a lengthened hull to give not only a swim platform for easy boarding but to increase this full displacement hull’s waterline length and so too her speed.

The layout and detailing of the accommodations reflect years of live-aboard cruising experience combined with a career of building custom cruising yachts - everything is where it should be, the boat is clean, open and bright throughout.

Set up and equipped to be safely handled by a couple and comfortably cruise wherever you choose.... and the dinette lowers to create a second double berth.

Four watertight bulkheads assure maximum safety.

In the engine room you will find just that : an engine and room. High performance lead / fiberglass sound insulation, soft engine mounts and a flexible coupling keep the engine’s noise out of the accommodations.

The systems compartment is designed to ensure all operating systems are easily accessible.

No exterior wood ensures ease of maintenance, while the wood inside makes the interior.

The standard cockpit arrangement includes a half open stern to make dinghy storage a simple, quick and easy job. This arrangement works for fishing, swimming, socializing, dining and sleeping under the stars.

A draft of just over 3 feet allows for near shore exploring, a fine entry and beam to length ratio of 1:3 assures offshore comfort, even in rough seas.

CAPE ISLAND CRUISERS are happy to customize a new build for this amazing boat for the discriminator buyer. Unmatched value for a classic East Coast Cruiser.

This a great looking trawler. I love the minimalist look.

That looks to be a durable design, will take a snotty sea, but I personally not fond of an open aft and deck, would probably have it fold up into the transom, or an insert that closes it off so you don't get pooped, also the lack of hand-holds on the roof edges etc. as you point out, is not real friendly on a boat with such narrow walks. As it sits it looks to be a fair weather gunk-holer or a bit better, but nothing you want to be in in crappy weather with especially in a following sea, great hull design or not that back would be a scary place in an emergency. Otherwise it is very pretty imho, lots of potential. Good walk-'round, Cheers!

Liked it a lot. Might be a bit small for me but still nice. Love to see new builders bringing new ideas to existence. The is a great platform for a diesel/Electric drive train.

I like it. I think it would be amazing on the great loop.

OK. Now THIS is a nice boat.
First, let me say thanks for repping a sailing/cruising oriented product (and it looks like a good one. Will check it out). No magic snake oil juice, please.

Love the fwd birth, doors on both sides of PH, engine ROOM. Nice single engine with good reduction and propping. Set up for power, not speed. My last trawler was 32’ with a singe 85 Ford Leahman and it was plenty of power. If you throttle this boat down to 7 kts, you would probably only burn 1.5 gpa. Very clean simple design. Nice lines too. Only one complaint and not a big one. That galley counter is beautiful, but not for long the way a galley is used. I would opt for Corian far better choice. Again, a winner. Thanks

Those solar panels look very interesting. I have been watching for improvements in the efficiency of solar and range extending generators. Combine them with a _big_ battery pack, a roof of those panels maybe on a thin water jacket to cool them down, and a bigger boat, (because I need to float four comfortably, six in a pinch), and we might be on to something here.

Nice to see a basic boat not dependent on powered everything. What is the finishing material on the interior walls? Can’t really tell.

Does anyone else feel like that low transom is just plain scary? I love the sleek lines, inside and out. Looks much easier to maintain than a more crafted vessels. I lie the split head too.
Slick-looking is a good way to say it. It just looks so easy to keep clean and yet comfortable for a couple.
I may be all wet but the transom tells me it would’ve more appropriate for fresh water than sea going or even the inland waterway.

Certainly not for all, but it does have a common-sense design and minimalistic charm. Sorry for the money I would buy a used Grand Banks or Beneteaufast trawler though.

doubt one can call it a cruiser with tiny fridge like that. they should have put full height fridge where the range is and stuck 2 burner propane unit into countertop. Overall it seems to be a bit overpriced for what it is... For this much one can get much better and more livable boat.

It's nice but that flat aft looks dangerous

A/C. . .Sorry, but a couple or small family. . .Harbours are almost always calm, wet, and buggy. Close it up, cool it down (dehumidify). . .Sailboats this would be a different conversation (maybe not), but love this thing, but want at least that one comfort.

Эта лодка очень напоминает детские деревянные игрушки 50-60 -х годов.... Только большая... Если у неё аналогичная цена 😊, тогда эта лодка сможет найти много покупателей 👍🇧🇾🤗!!!

For close to 400k, I couldn't justify it. Just think of the 40+ ft bluewater sailboat you could get with that kind of money and one that truly is a live a board, sail anywhere in the world.
