Atlanta gym owner faces further backlash for ‘no cop’ policy

How did this police officer turn this into saying the gym owner is anti kid and anti community? Because the gym owner won't fight the cop? Come on now. Grow up. Leave the gym owner alone. One can not go about threatening to bust someones nose if they choose not to associate with you. Plenty of places where cops are welcome. And places that are closed to citizens other than law enforcement officers. The 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of assembly/ association. The police officer seems to be violating the gym owner's rights by harassing him. Being a police officer is not a protected discrimination status. It smacks of harassment of the gym owner. And as long as the gym owner is paying his taxes (whether or not actually) he is entitled to timely police protection otherwise the officers who deny that may well be guilty of malfeasance.

As a 32 year veteran of law enforcement, I say to you, STOP BEING A PUNK WITH A BADGE, and maybe people will respect law enforcement again. It's his business and he can do whatever he wants to do within the law. That's more than can be said for most cops today. They all seem to believe they can do anything they want, lawful or not, just because they have a badge.
