Putin wants to end Ukraine war ‘as soon as possible’

Vladimir Putin says Russia will do everything it can to bring the Ukraine war to an end "as soon as possible", despite the direction of the conflict swinging against his military in recent days.

Speaking at a televised summit in Uzbekistan, the Russian president said "Moscow was doing all it could to end the conflict."

Russia only has to withdraw from every inch of internationally recognized Ukrainian territory for the war to end. That includes Crimea and Donbas. Reparations must follow as well.
