Russia is having thousands of tanks and attack helicopters near my country border. but when we rise few allied forces in our territory to try to counter them- then it is a treat to Russia security. but what about our security in Baltics? it is like if we can not have an army at all. because Russia feels threatened.

If a conflict breaks out between Ukraine & Russia - Rest assured 100% of US soldiers in Kiev, will leave that territory at lightning speed. Not a single US life would be lost to save an underfed and careless Slav's life there. NATO was established against the Soviet Union. When in 1991 the USSR collapsed, all former Soviet colonies wanted collective security. The Russian Federation - when it was established - had NATO applicant members on its borders. Therefore NATO has not got closer. It remains exactly where it was when the Russian Federation was established.
