TikTok video captures man lurking near women's legs in Burbank bookstore

Social media personality Michaela Witter started a series on TikTok called “Solo Dates” — meant to showcase outings and activities that people can do alone, especially women.

But what happened to the 28-year-old at a Barnes & Noble in Burbank made her feel stalked and violated. What started as a trip to the bookstore to relax turned into an unnerving experience for Witter. Shortly after she arrived at the bookstore, she said a stranger began following her before finally invading her space.

“It felt like anywhere I moved, he kept following me,” she recalled. “So I recorded just in case he was trying to say anything or do anything to me but I definitely did not expect him to do this.” In the video, the man is seen crouching down low and getting extremely close to Witter’s legs. He is later seen doing the same thing to another woman browsing nearby.

When I was a teen, a man followed me all over the public library. It was like in the movies where every time I took a book off the shelf, there he was.
I told my older sister and he started to follow both of us so my sister took me home.
The library so not safe for kids especially that one I went too because the restroom was also separated from the front desk where the librarian was. They wouldn’t hear you if you screamed.

This happened to me when I was in middle school. My mom and I went to the store and we briefly separated from each because I wanted to look at clothes. I noticed this creepy guy smiling and following me, and when I stared back he thought I was interested. I was 13 this guy was at least 50+. He told me he was only security and to not worry he was only going to follow me around the store., I immediately went to my mom and told her what he said. . My mom went to the manager where he confirmed he was not part of security. My mom went after that guy and started yelling at him, calling him a pervert that following little girls around the store is disgusting and every parent should be aware of this creep. Shortly after security came and took them away.

That camera footage displays more than enough of his appearance to figure out who he is and where he lives. Another sick thing about this is the leniency of the judicial system on crimes of this nature. What's even more sick is there are people like that man in the judicial system. I pray that laws start delivering more serious consequences for sexual offenses.
