I actually really appreciate the comment about silencing the distractions. I think a couple years ago I might have rolled my eyes at it, but I actually went through and did it and it really helped me focus throughout this. As someone who has had youtube be a major part of their life for over 10 years now, I don't think I've ever seen that in a YouTube video before, and I just wanted to say as somebody who's 25 and still trying to figure out how to adult, I really appreciated that!

Turbo tax tried charging me $99 for state taxes when it wasn’t necessary.

I chose the free option, but by the time I was ready to file I was suddenly using the premium version and being charged $45. Is this because in the course of the process I ended up using premium features?

Thank you so much for this indepth video. I had no idea how to file online, It seemed very intimidating cause I usually use a tax preparer, whom messed up my tax forms and name last year, it was such a waste if money for crappy tax preparation. I learned so much and will be filing my own taxes from now on. 😄

so being self employed, basically if my business expenses are less than my tax bracket multiplied by the standard deduction of 12, 400 than I should just file with the standard deduction and not even worry about all my office expenses?
