Quality of life in Boise has plummeted and getting worse with each passing day. Overcrowding and overdevelopment without supporting infrastructure has ruined one of the best places I have ever lived. Politics have shifted with the influx of people fleeing from California, Oregon and Washington. I watched the rapid decline of two of the greatest cities in the Pacific NW (Portland & Seattle) and Boise is sadly following suit. I am a 30 year resident of Boise.

I was stationed in mountain home Idaho 2006-2010 I want to visit so bad again. After watching this video I don’t know what to expect my expectations are high because I was in the prime of my life when I lived in Idaho. I really don’t want to come back and be disappointed

All cities have their thing now. I’m actually surprised boise isn’t even more liberal since there is a college there. Stick to the suburbs and keep the legislature red. You’ll be fine.

3. Oregon (11%)

It was for the year of 2023.

I love the conservative myth of the litterbox in schools. I had a coworker tell that to me about Connecticut schools. Total nonsense. I think that it's insane that people are paying to move just because there are gay people around, but that's just me.

I moved from Boise in 2008 to Pensacola, FL. I have been wanting to return but not thrilled with the liberal slant that Boise has become. I sensed years ago that's the way it would eventually go as the rival to Portland and Seattle as you say. I may look into Meridian. I appreciate your sharing this information

Boise is not Portland, San Francisco, or Seattle...you can have change without just spreading fear. I don't agree with McLean on everything, but living in Boise proper has been amazing for my family. We are in a more walkable/bikeable spot, so we don't have to drive for every trip. We can walk to a coffee shop and grocery store. Also, crime HAS NOT gone up in Boise. In fact, crime has decreased proportionally to the population growth.

Boise definitely is becoming more conservative, with more “political refugees” moving to Boise. Boise has always been moderate, hell idaho had a democratic governor in the 1990s. Very simple minded view discussing pride flags with supposed “litter boxes” at a school that I doubt is true. I loved Boise but hated that people were extremely open with politics and that always seemed to be an unnecessary discussion.

I left Boise when my motel reservation was completed. It is a nice city to visit. I probably cannot afford to live there.
