Gel case on phone = no slide around on the shelf 😎

I reckon to get about 200 miles out of my Trophy in wintertime but this predicated on heating the battery with my charger for 30 minutes before starting out. I’m happy with my purchase so far.

Good luck Nobby! I've an MG4 for a few weeks now. Light in the back is a bit annoying and the lane keep assist can be a little finicky but otherwise absolute cracking car. Even before the money comes into it!

Great down to earth presentation, that is what most people, including myself want to hear. Congratulations!

I really enjoyed your very informative review. This is the first time I’ve seen your reviews and I’m impressed. The delivery is very fluid and you really give a good impression of the car. I subscribed and like straight away. Well done Nobby you are a brilliant YouTuber, keep up the very good work!

Seems like a pretty balanced review. Always good to have the not so good points available for consideration

Congratulations Nobby. Really sorry to see you go from radio as I listen to that show every morning but delighted to see this chanel doing so well for you. The content is amazing.

Pick my MG4 up on the 1st of March, in grey too😀. Replacing a 12 year old golf I use to commute 150 miles a day three(ish) times a week. Will be interesting to see what its efficiency is like on a very mixed typed of road commute. I spoiled myself and went for the top spec (trophy in the UK). 👋

1:53 - that is a wee bit misleading: as I understand it, they ARE alloys, but with an aerodynamic cover over them.

Had my Trophy since beginning of Jan. Absolutely love it. Air-con adjustment - swipe down screen stays on. Few niggles - cabin doesn't heat up properly (as I think it should and as you noted), Lane Keep Assist - you do get used to it and realise when it's going to 'Kick Off' (so to speak). Cold snap in Uk..motorway .. (32 miles each way on drive to work) 2.X-ish miles/Kwh. Noticed more recently (now it's started to get warmer) 3.x (high X) going to work/driving around.

I've also had to reset the infotainment sytem a number of times (Home button for 20-seconds ish), when, for eaxmple, you can't change radio volume. (Which is a pain but not a £5K+ minimum pain)

For the price I don't believe it can be beaten (yet?!)

Would love to see more from MG. Smaller, practical, accessible and entry level EVs are needed yesterday .

Back in 2014 MG teased a rebadged Chinese Roewe e50 or "Dynamo electric". No word, nothing. The electric car that's needed more of.

I'm a Dublin taxi driver and your review, excellent.
Convinced me this is the car for me. Cheers

Mark! Wow! Congratulations! Full Time reviewer and You Tube. I have said before You are one of the very best 'true' reviewer in Europe! [And You Tube]. Yes, i can see a media/ TV deal 'just around the corner'. Excellent. Delighted for you. Hopefully car brands will support you too. Here is to you and your family's future.
As for the MG4 EV... well i think you will know my lets reference Captain Scarlet again! Forgive me but 'god awful' springs to mind. Not against EV's, loving the new BMW iX1... simply looks like any other X1. [Looking forward to your review of that.] Thanks again. All the best for your future.

I have the MG4 SR (in the same grey which I quite like). I have wondered about the range. Much less when cold. I have noticed it hovering around 2 miles per kWh (I'm in the UK although from Dublin). When I set off in the morning on the motorway if I reset the mileage after driving about 3 or 4 miles then I notice I'll get between 2.5 & 3 miles per kWh. So I guess it takes a while for the battery to heat up and then seems better in terms of efficiency. Looking forward to seeing an increase in the summer 🤞.

Great review as always Nobby and good luck! You’re the first person, for me at least, to mention the ‘wireless sliding phone’ syndrome, the USB C Carplay and the aircon temp issues. The temp, the ACC braking and headlights staying on are an MG feature, not exclusive to the MG4, I have a 5 LR pre-facelift and you get used to it! I’m delighted with my EV, but I will never buy another one unless it has a rear wiper, rear armrest and physical buttons for the aircon. In fact, I believe that there should be legislation to reverse the trend for putting everything in the infotainment screen. It’s as bad as using your phone when driving.

I recently sat in one at the local dealer and was pleasantly surprised. I've been thinking about selling my old Bentley and BMW to make the switch to electric. Good luck with the future of the channel. I always enjoy the content.

Thanks for your thoughts, we get the MG4 mid year here in Australia.

About range - switch off 'intelligent ' battery heating because it uses 7kW for no good purpose unless speedy DC charging is needed. Ive just done a 100ml motorway trip today in the SE and got 3.7 ml/kW - temp about 8C, speed about 65mph.

Congrats! Full time, eh. 👏🏻
This MG is a long way from my buddy's MGB convertible he had in 1979 (high school for us)! Lots of fun even though the three windshield wipers rarely worked.
