They sent 107 billion US taxpayer dollars to Ukraine, oddly enough you mostly just see them using like $800 drones.

If the government provides everyone with $25 000 for a down payment on a house, what will happen is that prices goes up by $25 000. Thus helping no one.

The past 4 years prices skyrocketing to an unprecedented level, are you crazy to elect someone from the same administration and expect a different outcome?? Isn’t that the definition of insanity?

Don’t let her confuse and distract you. We are paying more in the grocery store and in other areas of importance in our lives because of inflation not price gouging. She either doesn’t understand economics or she’s counting on voters not understanding economics. Why does she want to confuse voters with the price gouging narrative, because she knows inflation is the fault of the government. All of these freebies and all of this out of control spending by the government comes at a great price to us all. Stop getting excited when they talk about throwing you some so-called “free”crumbs to keep you voting for them. It’s also about time people start learning that continuing to force an increase with the minimum wage doesn’t fix the problem of bad government policy that is causing you to not be able to afford to live your life. It doesn’t seem to matter that the proof is right in front of everyone’s face there in California when they raise the minimum wage the last time people are now paying even more and lost their jobs. We need both sides to stop their middle school trash, talking and start dealing with policy issues and we as voters need to educate ourselves on those policies and what they will actually mean to us and stop letting these people manipulate us.

The strongest economy in history, shouldn't need price controls.

It's a sleight of hand to make people think that inflation is caused by greedy corporations instead of excessive government spending and money printing.

Competition lowers prices. If you just force prices lower you'll have shortages. That's Economics 101.

Wow. The stupidity in the comments is staggering. Going after businesses instead of their own horrible energy policy. How else does food get to the market, by stork? We’ll be Venezuela with 4 more years of this insanity.

I am a staunch supporter of the "democratic" way of looking at things on behalf of "the working class".
That said, I would seriously question how Kamala Harris is going to reduce the cost of 3 million new housing units and make them "affordable"?? Being a retired construction worker and property owner, I have a few decades first hand knowledge of this industry/business. Exactly how will this new housing inventory be made "affordable"?? Housing construction already is almost entirely "crafted" by non-union tradesmen/tradeswomen so, cutting the cost by using Non-union workers is not "on the table" as a cost savings. Is there a way to reduce the cost of materials and products that together become the buildings?? Those items are not "government supplied" so ????
Is there enough government owned land in urban areas (where people need to live for employment) to offer it as a "discount" on the finished product?? There might be some benefit to be derived during the permit process but I doubt that could be enough to make units "affordable".
This entire argument has been completely adopted by the general public, including politicians, but fails to "pencil out" in reality. Can anyone show us one example where additional housing built ANYWHERE has resulted in any reduction of housing prices in those same places ??? Of course, there is builder/developer profit/property taxes !! Are we going to somehow "limit" those to ???? % of the actual cost????
The only alternative for the "affordability" of housing issue is to return the wages, adjusted for inflation, to a time and value when housing was "MORE" AFFORDABLE. One thing we all need to remember and realize is that housing NEVER was EASY to satisfy !!! The REAL PROBLEM is that a high enough percentage of people in America have enough income to buy the current stock while a much higher percentage of people are stuck with "antique" wage jobs and can hardly afford to pay rent since those with the funds have driven the entire value of ALL housing, including NEW housing, out of sight.
