Scarves indoors are super cozy. Having your neck warm is a game changer!

I never thought about laying my heating pad on the floor to put my feet on while crocheting, thank you! I would also recommend a redlight lamp! ❤

When I am cuddled up on the couch reading or watching TV in the winter I use a fleece blanket and a wool afghan that my Grandma made for me many years ago. Super warm!

Get yourself 2 or 3 chonky cats. They’re like living hot water bottles and be sure to choose the people ones who like to nest on you. When they’re not nesting they’re extremely decorative and be quite entertaining. Depending on your cat, your meat costs will go down because they’ll gift you with chipmunks, squirrels, bunnies…I haven’t taken advantage of this bonus. But a few kitties are as warm as a weighted blanket.

I do most of the things you mentioned. Instead of a hat, I wear a hoodie with a long sleeved shirt under it. My neck seems to get coldest so I wear scarves and shawls too. Keep up the great videos!

Yesterday, I just googled ways to stay warm at home. Last month, I bought flannel sheets and yesterday, I bought an electric blanket. I need to buy weather stripping next, but I want to that in person and not online. I, too, looked at the items on Amazon. It was good to hear your perspective!

Oh, Sara your sense of humor is awesome! Getting tips and giggles is a win win : ) My gram used to heat up rice in a sock and put it in the covers at the end of the bed she said it was so cozy, my little border terrier used to snuggle down under the covers and heat up the bed. Now I'm a woman of a certain age too I need it cold cold cold at night or I can't sleep at all. I layer up during the day though! Like your friend I too play the how long can I go game and so far still no furnace but this weekend we are supposed to get snow and go below freezing so I bet I will have to turn on the heat : ( I was hoping to make it to December.

Great tips! Also on Amazon there are Sherpa lined sweatshirts. I have two, and we are able to leave our heater on 66. It comes on occasionally unless it’s really cold. We have a newer heat pump, and for it to warm up more than 2 degrees, it switches to auxiliary heating. This uses way more electricity. So, the “Sherpa shirts” have been a great way to stay cozy.

My feet get cold even with extra socks on. I have found a heating pad folded in half makes a great foot warmer. I just slip my feet in and its great.

I agree with each tip and have used most of them. Wool socks are great too. Pricey, but if you launder in a mesh bag they stay nice longer.

Fleese blankets are a game changer. It's much nicer to go in/out of bed. Heating pad/hot water bottle in the bed, absolutely.

I opted for a wool blanket instead of a heated mattress pad when mine broke. It is so warm and uses no electricity.

Great ideas. I live in Ontario where it gets pretty cold in the winter. I use Hothands hand and feet warmer packets when I'm outside on a cold day but they stay warm for up to 7 hrs. (no batteries -it's a chemical reaction) so I often use them in the house as well when I come in. I can buy a box at the local hardware store.

Can also buy the heating elements and sew/put them into whatever clothes you want. We in NorCal don't use room heaters until we feel like okay its too too cold might get sick. Which is usually Dec/Jan. Electric blanket, i like hoodies to keep chill off back if neck. Asking santa for several pairs of insulated undergarments this yr..Also wrap your pipes esp low lying ones to prevent frozen pipes. and w condensation on windows wipe daily or deal w black mold.
