The Insta360 looks fantastic - Especially in low light. I use a GoPro to capture my drumming at gigs (often low light) or motovlogging. Low light performance has not been great.

I'm looking forward to maybe trying this bad boy out.

As someone who does color correct, I think it's useful to see the "raw" footage and also the color-graded footage. Sweet video though!

An FPV comparison would be awesome. I really want to see how it performs against the go pro for FPV pilots.

When you do your FPV tests really curious how it stands against Dji Action 4, especially 10bit log vs Insta 360 Ace Pro Flat profile or Pure Video modes. With these smaller cameras getting better in low light I find I have more use for them especially as the days get shorter. Great video, I like the flip screen tripod idea.

I've watched a lot of videos comparing the two like you have done, and I have to say, the Ace Pro looks to perform better. The low-light test is especially telling. My Hero 8 sucks in low light, so I've been looking to upgrade. Thanks for the video.

Nice to get a sneaky look at the new office-to-be. Seriously though - I'm ready for an action cam that does better in low light, so this is great for my research! I'm currently shooting everything in flat with my GoPro 9 and then brightening it later amongst other things. I think this would reduce my editing time a lot.

The Ace Pro looks great but gotta admit that I like the look of the GoPro 12 better because the blues are desaturated lol. Other than that I think the Ace Pro looks like a great action cam, especially in low light compared to the 12. What's that bounce at 2:31 with the insta360? Great review!!

Perfectly timed video Peter as I'm currently looking to upgrade my GoPro 7 and I really fancy the Insta360 Ace Pro....or the both!
I really like that quick mount which will interact my GoPro mounts - but save so much time and messing about. I don't think that you mention it but could you give me a rough idea on how long the batteries last, say, shooting 4K video? My GoPro is now really, really bad and it nearly takes me more time to mount it than the time I get from my footage!!

Can you upload raw o unedited footage to the cloud to compare? Youtube compression and data does not help. But I can see a clear difference in stabilization where gopro is a lot better. But some features can be fixed. Great video but quality is compromised on this platform.

I hope this pushes GoPro to make big upgrades next time. I'd love to see that. I do notic that GoPro did look sharper in low light though, it's easy to push the ISO and then denoise, I think GoPro is capable of that as well to get the right exposure, but it'll always decrease sharpness, but of course those pitch black footage is not usable while the Insta360 footage is.

Thanks for the comparison, great overview. As of now, Hero 12 is priced at $349 USD for quite some time now. Imo, had better video quality, but not user friendly with glitching and overheating issues. Action 4 has been $399 USD, with no sales yet I believe. I think the video quality is a noticeable half step lower, but seems like a user friendlier camera. This Ace Pro is $449 USD. The video seems to be right there with GoPro. If there is no glitching or overheating issues, then dang, the Ace Pro looks like a great option, especially for casual users like myself. $100 more than GoPro is a bit steep. If the Ace Pro offers any kind of promo discount, I think becomes my favorite option. Thanks for great details and info so we can make an well guided decision!
