Ryobi 40V 15” String Trimmer Cordless Weed-eater Review
Показать описание
** One year update**
We have used this Ryobi 40v a few times this 2nd summer. I kept an eye on the battery all winter long. I’d try to plug it in while making dinner on Sundays and unplugged it before bed just to keep it up. I feel like the battery loss after 1 year is about 10%. I didn’t always remember to plug it in on Sundays or I’d forget to unplug it sometimes.
The thing has been a monster and works perfectly. For anyone that’s ever had a 13-14 year old son you know how frustrating it can be sometimes. With this string trimmer I can check his grades and tell him to grab the trimmer and go run out 1 battery per missing assignment….(I don’t even have to pay him for it then). He can refill the string on his own and I don’t have to mix gas or get it running for him like I would if it was gas. The yard hasn’t looked this good in years which is a testament to how well and easy this trimmer is to use and how many missing assignments my son has had… it’s still a 10/10 when my son is running it. Especially when you consider the value and price. End update***
Years back I bought the $99 craftsman gas trimmer and it wouldn’t even start after the 1st year. I’d buy another one a couple years later for $120 and again it would only run well for a year or so. I probably never winterized them properly but I didn’t have to winterize this one at all and it worked instantly without all of the headache. It’s still a 9/10 if I have to operate it.
I bought a cordless electric weed eater and thought I’d share my experience with anyone considering buying one themselves that might be interested. I’m not a brand snob but I’ve had good luck with Ryobi electric tools in the past.
Additionally my gfs push mower is a 40Vx2 Ryobi cordless electric and I’ve used it a few times and had a positive experience. I was thinking that the batteries from her mower might fit this weed eater but haven’t confirmed that yet.
I love the Home Depot but I absolutely hate when corporations use confusion as a sales tactic. I’m coming in there to spend honest, hard-earned money. It would be nice if they would just give an honest straight forward price across the board instead of putting a low price online to get you in the door to only then hide that particular skew and make you jump through hoops to get the price that’s posted online. The ideal package would be something like 2 batteries and the unit for $250-300.
People know BS when they see it. Just figure out what it cost to make and mark it up enough to cover the overhead and make a profit. It’s really that simple.
This is not a political video at all. I don’t care if someone uses gas or electric it’s no business of mine. This is more of a convenience factor for me personally. Modern gasoline is pretty much trash and is unstable and makes small engines run poorly after sitting over the winter.
Not everything in life is based on politics and if you think you can guess my political affiliation based on my videos you’re most likely wrong. If your opinions differ from mine I still love you as a person and I don’t take it personally. I’m just at an age where I want things to run smoothly and I’m experienced enough to make that happen. The battery life is meh. But it’s hot here in the summer and 55 min of weed whacking after work every day is plenty for me.
Thank you for your time.
